Hey guys, Im new to this board.
Looking to get a California Special, GT/CS as i really like the interior sued inserts with red stiching.
But id really like to have some of the PP goodies too... LOL

Sure i can buy the Brembo's after delivery, and add the suspension and change the wheels.
But i read that the PP has,
unique electric power-assisted steering, ABS and electronic stability control tuning.

Can this be programmed into to the ECU later?
Has anybody done this?
Or is it worth it?

Thanks

Hello and welcome. I have searched for the exact meaning of "Unique Stability Control, EPAS & ABS Tuning" and have come up empty. It is not explained anywhere that I have found so far. I have the car you are looking to get and out of the box it performs beyond my expectations. I wanted the pp goodies too and thought I'd be missing out.

The non pp brakes perform well and instead of upgrading them to the brembos I've decided to just upgrade the hoses to stainless steel braided lines. My thinking is that upgrade alone would yield even better brake performance while not adding more weight of the brembos, plus it's way less expensive.

Unless you are going bigger than 275 you don't need to change the wheels. I love the CS rims and am going to run a square 275 setup.

I plan on upgrading the suspension to the frpp track handling pack and the exhaust to the frpp cat back quad tip exhaust with gt350 Valance.

As far as the Unique Stability Control, EPAS & ABS Tuning goes, i wouldn't worry about it. My feeling is its more marketing than anything else. The CS already has all the drive modes and steering options.

It would probably be easier to add all of the non functional stuff from a GT/CS to a PP car if you can't live without that stuff

Thanks Sal33n,
True on brake upgrading the pads, fluid and hose may yeild a good enough result. Without speding 1500 to swap to the PP brembo's. Thanks for the advise.

I guess i would need to test drive both to see if i can actually fell a difference in the EPAS and stability control.

Going 6 speeds, so no worries there.
Performance suspension for sure.
I would go like you with the gt350 rear valance quad muffler and gt350 steering wheel to have a full sued look.

Adding the CS to a PP could get expensive, as the seats are probably a few grand. Havent found pricing on those online.

Question is looks vs performance. Hummm

Your last statement summed it up, I think. What do you want and what are you using you car for?

Me, its a weekend cruiser. I want to drive with the top down and enjoy the ride. The CS interior did it for me, with the exterior accenting just topping it off.

If I wanted the car for performance, I probably would have went the PP route and carried on from there.;)

Good luck with your decision. I am sure whichever way you go, you will be happy. A test drive for each would probably be a good idea.

The look of the CS is killer and separates it from most of the s550s I see on the road. Test driving both, the pp will obviously feel more performance oriented just due to the pp package so I'm not sure if you would be able to differentiate that from the EPAS and stability control differences, if there really are any.

An honest true test would be a pp gt to a non pp gt with upgraded suspension. However that is not really an option unless you knew a guy, lol.

PP is more than brakes and traction control tuning. The 3:73 torsen, chassis bracing, larger radiator, gauges and chin spoiler

Very true. However have you seen the chin spoiler on a CS? Looks like nascar :headbang:

I will agree that the pp package is killer, especially for the price Ford offers it for. It just sucks you can't get it with the CS package or auto gt.

Yes, but it uses the non PP under tray. The PP under tray is more functional performance wise.

I guess you must have bought from a lot, rather than order? Cuz 3.73 is an option.

You have a gorgeous car by the way.:first: Ruby Red was one of my choices when I ordered, but I have a RR F150 SCrew FX4 now and I wanted a color change.:D

Please explain. I am unfamiliar with those particular differences.
The PP under tray has functional air channels for assistance with brake cooling and aids in aerodynamics.

Thank you! yes unfortunately I had to get one off the lot within a day or two of my visit so I'm thankful they had my car, even though I really wanted a manual. Ruby red is awesome on the trucks with that much surface area it really pops.
