I'm looking to lower my GT a little bit to get rid of the gap for when I put new wheels on, but I can't decide which of these two suspensions to get. I'm leaning toward the Track version because I keep hearing that it's an improvement over the performance pack...which I don't have. They both lower the same amount according to their descriptions. I am not interested in only getting springs.
This is my daily driver and will also get snow tires in the winter. Anyone have any advice regarding these two?

If you don't have PP GT than the street pack is basically all the PP parts save for a couple items so it would be an improvement in general. That being said, most people seem to think the PP has too much bounce, however, the springs included may help that. I believe the springs are the only thing different between the PP and the street pack. I think spending a little bit more money on the track pack is worth it because it makes the car better than the PP and is giving you the best that Ford has to offer. Most reviews say the track pack is still great for daily driving because the springs are still progressive.

As far as winter tires, most of the big guys (continental, michelin, bridgestone, etc.) offer good tires. Blizzaks are widely considered the best with x-ice a good second choice. I'd probably go with blizzak lm-32 because they are more of a dry/cold performance oriented winter tire. Won't give you the best performance in all out snow compared to a more aggressive snow/ice tire but will still certainly be better than any all-season. If you live in an area with a lot of snow than maybe go with a more aggressive one but if snow is more of a nuisance than a daily occurrence I'd go with the lm-32.

Thanks for the tip. I'll be getting the track version soon!

I also don't have the PP on my GT and I'm getting the track pack shipped next week. Can't wait. I've heard good things about it. Installing the MGW Race Spec shifter tomorrow. :)

I really do not know 100% but I think the bounce is probably in the springs more than anything. A discussion I haven't seen a lot about is the difference between the X & Y springs. It's obvious that the Y springs have a good bit stiffer Spring rate than the X's hence why they come with the track pack and a stiffer damper. I'm planning on finding some performance pack takeoffs since they are substantially cheaper than a track handling and either picking up a set of X or Y springs. I'd like to eliminate the bounce as well.

It really seems to come down to the shock rates and the spring rates not complimenting one another. So, you could either put shocks that match the springs or springs to match the shocks to solve the problem. At that point, I'd rather just replace everything with a kit that works correctly from the get go. Ford probably tried to make something that was comfortable for DD and better than base suspension but not really the best performance wise.

Levittown, hands down. And top notch customer service too.
They're one of the vendors on the site, so you can even keep it in the family. Hit them up.
I purchased my track pack through them so I speak from experience.

Thanks for the tip! They are the cheapest.
Another question. How much should I expect the install to cost? I went to my local Ford dealer today and they first said it would be 8 to 10 hours of work. Then they also said they couldn't align it afterwards because they only have stock spec alignment numbers.
After that, they told me to come back next week and we can all talk to their tech guy to get more details.

I'm having a ton of work done all at once through a local shop in AZ:install FRPP Track, MGW Shifter, New T-Stat, Steeda Stop the Hop and Diff Bushings.
We didnt break it down by piece, but all told it's ~$750 total. I have no measure so I don't know if that's good or bad, but given the time it will save me if I did it myself I'm okay with it.

I just put the Street Handling Pack in my car last weekend. I started with the Base GT suspension.

Absolutely LOVE it. No bounce, corners beautifully, and none of the three females in my life (daughter, wife and mother) noticed a thing! Not harsh at all, but amazing cornering, braking, taking off. Very happy I didn't go with the track pack.
