My SHO was a PP car. I did it more for the gear ration then the suspension.

In my GT, I o not have the PP, but 3.55 gears and 20 inch wheels. The 20 inch wheels IMHO make up for the lack of stiffer springs. In my case, the parkway going into where I live is the worst stretch of 1.5 miles of bumpy cracked poorly laid concrete in all of missouri. I would not be able to live with the car if it were any stiffer.

All for my point. Get the car that suits YOU, not your buddy, or worse some magazine hack.

.
Oh I absolutely agree. The S550 I almost bought back when they first came out was a premium with the 20s like yours. I just liked the way it looks way more than the PP.

I can run mid 12's

maybe they had manual trannys, not the "i win button" tranny
On stock tires with my M6. It takes practice getting consistent launching with 470 foot pounds of Q. Feather clutch, smooth power application and pour it on after you hook.

Back to the comparo

No Camaro looks as good as this basic GT. People will say it's my opinion, but I suspect a polling of random people show that most people agree. Many Camaro guys tell me that their car is the least attractive of the 3.

That is exactly right. It's cheaper to make a care handle better or decrease the 0-60 time. It is a lot more expensive to change the overall look of the car; especially one as ugly as the camaro.lol

In all seriousness the Camaro is a good performing car and I'm glad it exists to push Ford to make an even better Mustang. At the end of the day most people are either a mustang or camaro fan and not that many change their mind regardless of power or looks. At least people I know anyways.

I feel like a lot of these words people use are huge exaggerations.

apparently .3 seconds difference to 60 or in the quarter mile is "UTTERLY DESTROYED" or "absolutely raped!".

Of course they can be compared, but i think you mean the camaro is so far out of the league of the mustang you shouldn't even compare it which i also disagree with. It's not like the mustang is a 1999 Nissan Sentra, it will probably more than keep up with the camaro but will have a tough time. To the average person, these cars are very close in performance. I think i can safely say this as when I went down to the Lightening track in Millville, NJ, to the average person, the average person will not be able to fully take advantage of the slight differences in the cars. I was on the track with a 2012 camaro zl1, a corvette stingray, a shelby cobra kit car, lexus is-f. I was able to pass all of those cars in my completely stock Auto, non-pp stang. I had stock tires, brakes, everything. This doesn't mean that my car is better or faster, but my point is that to us, the average people who do autocross or a few track days a year, any car under 5 seconds to 60 will be close enough where a few tenths of a second

Like come on guys, lets be reasonable. Times this close is as much a drivers race than anything. I am fully understanding that the camaro in stock form is faster than the mustang, not by a huge amount but enough.

Sorry for the rant. I just dislike when people say things like the camaro SS is much better compared to the new gt350, as if the GT is so out of its league.
Well there is a significant difference in half a second in the quarter mile. But I am more talking about the twisties. As much as the GT is out classed in the straight, I think it feels just as in front when you put corners in front of them. The overall tight feel and balance of the chassis is just something that I did not feel in the Mustang. Albeit the S550 is 10000000000 times better at "feeling" more planted than the S197.

The GT as it sits right now is just not close enough in performance areas. I think Ford knows this, and we will see some improvements made. But for now they are ok with the current sales.

Great looking car. But I think the 6th Gen Camaro is better looking. Again, this is all opinion. I think the new Navigator concept is amazing. But a lot of Ford guys do not. Why? A matter of opinion.

Give me a GT350 front and I think the S550 beats out the Camaro...it's kinda a wash at the moment. Camaro wins the front & 3/4 front view....tie for the side profile and Mustang wins the rear and rear 3/4.

Can't wait for the refresh. If Camaro would have had a lower side window/belt line and lower back seats/front mouse ears it'd be hard to not take the Camaro.

I disagree with this. I think the Mustang will continue to outsell the Camaro, because the Mustang is better in many ways. There's a lot more to a car than a couple performance numbers. The price and perceived value are huge. It comes down to individuals judging cars as a whole and then making buying decisions.

Those buying decisions are still coming down in favor of the Mustang.

I didnt say any thing other than performance. They are not that close in performance. In storage, visibility, back seat (LOL), trunk space, and price goes to the Mustang. That is why the Mustang will continue to sell well. But GT (pp or not), is considerable behind the SS in performance.

You beat the drivers though. Most drivers suck lol. But the cars are capable of running certain times. Just doesnt mean it will happen.
Says the bench racer. I hate this statement more than any other on the internet. If a car is "supposed" to run 11.9 but 96% of drivers can't do it, are they driving an 11 sec car? Answer, no.

Emphasis is mine. You said it's not close ENOUGH. I disagree. I think it's close enough in performance for buyers to make the decision to buy based on other factors such as styling, price, comfort, visibility, standard features, perceived reliability, etc. Continued high Mustang sales support my opinion.

Yes they are driving an 11 second car lol. They themselves just cannot do it. Not sure how this is hard to grasp lol.

Ok I can see that point. For me it is not close enough.

I hope to see one in my lifetime. Maybe you'll post a video of you doing it on stock tires.
