What should my final costs be?

I'm a bit cr@p at understanding final car costs and could do with a bit of help...

I went for a GT Fastback Manual with Metallic paint and the rear parking sensors. Ordered beginning April '15 and the pricing was £32,995 + £295 + £595 = £33,885 according to the paperwork I had at the time.

I paid a £500 deposit so is £33,385 the final figure - or is there anything on top of this (the brochure said Ford pay the 1st year Vehicle Excise, plates and Govt First Reg Fee)?

I ask as the bill I've just had is £1,520 higher

You pay the cost as at April 2015. Looks like they may have used current prices as there have been 2 increases since you ordered.

Thanks Slowhand. I've just checked the invoice and they've added £1,100 for Roadfund and £55 First Reg (both of which should be covered).

...then another £82 'Admin Fee' plus £17 in petrol (presumably enough to drive it off the forecourt )

Whatever way I look at it, it seems wrong to me.

Final cost includes everything, shouldn't be charging you for fuel or anything like that. My final cost was £29,885, car, paint & sensors. That's exactly what I paid

Whatever way I look at it, it seems wrong to me.

Those things will appear on your invoice but they are included in the total price you were quoted; and this should match the invoice total. They've started with the wrong basic price.

the Tax, minimal petrol, admin etc, should all be covered in the price of the RRP, mine states all of the added niggles and what not, however doesn't jump above my price of 30 and change grand...

Yours looks to have been jumped up 1k because of the recent rises in jan and march this year (500 each) i'd dispute it with your dealer, as you shouldn't be paying a grand more.

No - but I did get a confirmation receipt from them (including my deposit) which included the price list at that time (from the brochure). So legally I'm pretty sure I'm covered. The dealer also confirmed via email that price rises wouldn't affect me

I'm sure its just a mistake on their side.....

Probably a printing issue, filed incorrect paper work, i'm sure it's not entirely a mistake, a bet someone at ford has managed to get some unsuspecting punter with the price rise... :headbonk:

My final price in Feb 2015 was £36685, but when I went to finalise plates, instructions etc, there was a discrepancy of overs £1k between their figures and mine....

It was all sorted, but it turns out that the Ford system generates an order with current prices.

On mine it took a manager to go in, and manually alter the prices to match my original price..

Mine did the same at first but when I corrected him it was up £10 due to Road Tax increase.
