Cancelled order for a silver GT fastback. Going to next in line - presumably. Good luck!

The dealer is doing the right thing by the way.

That's no good.

Did it not live up to expectations?

the consumer experience thus far is enough reason to cancel for some, gotta remember not everyone that orders is going to be a die-hard enthusiast

I agree, I am a Holden fan and I have been lured over by the mustang. Several times because of comments about build quality, stuff being left of the AUS spec and fords lack of communication and clarity I have questioned weather I should cancel and get a vf.

I can see why people are getting the shits.

I got completely fed up with Ford's lack of response, caring, and their general attitude, that I told them that I was cancelling my order (which they really didn't seem to care about), and messaged my dealer to tell him that I'm cancelling my order and require a refund. He talked me off the ledge, but after 4 months of getting the run around, banging my head against the wall, being lied to and eventually being ignored, I'd had enough.

I can see how it can happen!

You're not alone, but I'm holding on ... just ... I'm mainly scared about build quality. After driving my 3-year-old XR6T for a week, I can see that Ford build quality isn't the greatest, so one can only wonder what a US-one might be like.

XR6T is a great car in terms of bang for buck but is let down a little by indifferent build quality (and the one I bought isn't a bad one, as I rejected a couple of others I was looking at which were worse). And I think you will scratch the paint if you look at it too long. And I'm crushing up the leather after only a week in the driver's seat, whereas it was previously okay - I've got a pretty big arse and pretty big legs :). So I'm scared of what I'll do to the Mustang seats if the leather is even worse (as some have suggested). No more leg day at the gym ... squats are out!!

At least they cut the carpet nicely under the seat on the XR6T so you can see the VIN number :).

MC, never skip leg day :p

Ask HybridGT for a full explanation, he's the local PT.
