MattG - did you swap in the H-pipe prior to installing the GT500s, or was that part of this project too? How much louder is this combo over stock? I'm thinking of going the same route, and adding a JLT CAI for good measure.

the hpipe I done a week before I got my hands on the GT500s, just having the hpipe isn't to much of a difference over stock IMO while still having stock mufflers

Here is mine... Paid 283.00 for mufflers and 100.00 install. I love this set up.... I think it sounds exactly like I want and for less than 400.00

I had my GT500's installed today on my 16' GT. Shop cost was $200 to weld that and the SVE xpipe in. Love the sound. Zero drone but nice and loud when you get on it. I had these on my '12 with offroad xpipe and had zero drone as well. I'm glad I stumbled onto this, instead of $1400 for the FRPP Touring I was about to dish out. Steering wheel and CAI with the extra cash I saved.

I've got my Borla ATAKs from my 13 V6. Think those would work? I wonder how it would sound.

Looks like I found my next exhaust setup. I'll be buying a pair of these and a Ford Racing X-Pipe.

I had the GT500 mufflers on my 2012 V6 and I was very pleased with the tone and volume they provided. 100% drone free, too.

Absolutely drone free, I've tried from every imaginable Rpm/ mph combo. 0 drone....it seems to be a tad louder than the same combo on my 12 and 13 5.0.... Probably in my head ;)

Where did you pick up the mufflers for $283?

Anyone do this with a resonator delete and catless longtubes?
I will be soon. Stainless power and catless X going on eventually.

I just ordered a Lethal X-Pipe and am looking for the mufflers now. There's only one set I can find on eBay and they want $370 for it :-|

So my original eBay deal fell through....but I picked a set off of craigslist for a steal. I've had them on for about a week and a half, and the sound is exactly what I was looking for. I have the Lethal h-pipe bottleneck eliminator and the sound is very throaty with plenty of pops and burbles on deceleration. There is a healthy amount of volume in the car but not overpowering...absolutely no drone. My only hangup is the sound is a little hollow with the windows rolled down....but the more I drive it, the more I like it.

I do a lot of driving for work and have received a lot of compliments on the sound.

I can definitely see the hanger modifications.

Any other modifications? I see some pictures involve additional pipe welding? What if we just cut the pipe close to the muffler, leaving it in a similar state as if I bought a universal muffler?

These sound perfect! Does it matter what year mufflers you use? It looks like some MY have different length tips or are you swapping out the tips for something else?
