Lol. Idk how some people have the Xtermes and say they can't sneak out. I do it every day. Even when I start the car, I just put it in D and sit there for a minute. The 20-30 seconds of "loudness" everyone is referring to is reduced considerably.

I live in the back of my complex and have to drive all the way up to the front every day, and it's really easy to stay in 2nd or 3rd and cruise slowly without making too much noise. My detached garage is also right in front of my apartment unit and with remote start, I can hear it, but it's not so loud that I worry about waking anyone up... and I'm a very considerate person :D

Well purchased the extreme catback and awaiting for it to arrive and will be installed by Hypermotive. I will say give them a call if youre looking for a corsa system. Good prices.

Been speaking with Anthony and hes been really good to work with.

The steel tubes didn't work out for you? Can I buy them off of you? I really want some long tube headers, but I don't want to spend a thousand dollars and get ripped off so I'm planning on making my own. I'm sure all I have to do is bend your old exhaust tubes a little to fit on my engine. I'll buy some of that fish tank carbon filter stuff and make my own cats too.

Lol, he's being a bit of a dick, but you have to admit, when you post something like this about Corsa catbacks:

.. But no one should be paying $1200-$1400 for a catback EVER...
... then proceed to buy a $1200 Corsa catback literally 3 weeks later, you kinda have to just man up and admit you were wrong.

It is a fantastic sounding thing though, mine still makes me giggle uncontrollably when I hear it reflected off of storefronts in town, getting on it a little bit :D

Im not wrong about anything. No one should be paying $1200 for exhaust. I mean im having to pay it because I want the sound and quality, and I was given a great price by a seemingly good retailer/shop that is local to me luckily. But I still dont think the people who make it should be able to get away with charging as much as they do.

I generally agree, but working in the auto manufacturing world, R&D is expensive. And judging by the sheer number of people buying it despite it being one of the most expensive systems on the market, I'd be inclined to say they must have put a lot of R&D into designing it.

Yes it is stupid expensive for a catback, but in Corsa's case, it seems to be actually be justified.

Similar story with MGW shifters. One of the most expensive, but look how many still buy it and love it.

Then again, devil's advocate, everyone could just be "madly in love" with these expensive parts simply because they paid so much for them, they want to believe it's the best thing ever to justify it in their own minds

If you want the best quality and sound, then pay for it. They can charge $1200 because they have a high quality product that is arguably the best sounding system on the S550 platform.

I bought my Corsa Sport catback and couldn't be any happier.

I just installed my SW cat'd headers and paired up to my Corsa Sport it's about as loud as the Extreme. I can't imagine how obnoxious it is to their neighbors for those with LTs and Extremes!

Alright so had the system installed today by Hypermotive. Great guys and if you live near (or not so near) I recommend giving them a shot. I was in and out quickly, no issues.

So here is what I think about the Corsa system itself:

Much quieter than I thought it would be in a good way, but let me explain. The system I had in place before was the ford racing x pipe and flowmaster super 10s. They were loud as hell, had a lot of interior drone/resonance, and no control over the volume.

With this Corsa Extreme catback it starts at a moderate level. Though will have to wait and see what cold start is like. And I mean moderate, but steady. It would not annoy anyone unless they are just crabby anyway and looking for a reason to complain about something. You can easily control the volume by the pedal, and I swear to you the whole car feels smoother. Hard to explain.

Once you get on it purposely, it comes alive. It gets LOUD. But you have to be doing it on purpose. It remains the same nice sound until about 4k+ rpms and then it gains this sorta higher pitched note. Hard to explain.

The overall sound cannot be explained through text. And through vidoes it barely captures the sound. Some of them do decently well but still needs to be heard in person.

Overall: A+++ system and I stand corrected, its worth the price you pay for it even though I still cringe at paying it. It makes driving the car a joy.
