Has any other Mustang drivers experienced this?
On driving by BMW & Audi's, many drivers drop their window, but pretend they aren't looking at the beautiful Pony that is 'roaring' past them!!
Reminds me of Shrek: " Daddy, do the Roar "
Of course, I duly oblige with a gear drop for maximum effect :headbang:

They're looking at a real car, not some german clone car :).

They'll look like, what's that, oh it looks so nice, oh wow, look at it, then see it's a Mustang, in their head realise it's american and just go 'Nope not German'

Or they're appreciating the car, but don't want to show it as to risk their superiority complex of having an 'amazing german car' being knocked by admiring an american car. lol.

Come at me Audi/Merc/BMW lads!

Can't wait to have this effect, especially when they look in and see what looks like a kid driving the car  ! Even if the EB isn't as loud and burbly as the V8 (Well, not before the exhaust gets dropped on it)

Oh yeah the whole 'No, I'm not going to give you the satisfaction of looking at your car' thing. Happens all the time. You sit next to this guy in a Porsche and he's looking dead forward, without even a glance to either side like a zombie... Sure thing mate.

In his head he's like 'So sexy, wish i had that', on the exterior it's 'Fks sake, must not look, must not let someone think my porsche is worse off'

Imaginary Inferiority complex if you ask me ;).

Not limited to this thread but some of the comments on here are just pathetic. Really when the only car you can consider worthy is the model/brand you drive then you have some serious issues. And that applies to those who seem to think that the Mustang is the best car in the world bar none as well as those who think that only the Germans can produce a great car.
The last mustang I saw I rolled down my window too. Also almost rear ended the car in front whilst I was gawking at it. But then I'm a car lover. The brand is irrelevant. I drive a BMW now because they are great all rounders. But different cars do different things well. That's why we (or I at least) love changing my cars regularly.
But let's face it. Is a superiority complex about the mustang any different to an inferiority complex about a German brand?

On the same theme I used to find it hilarious in one of my cars, when you have a pedestrian walking towards you and they are determined not to look at the car until you have gone by then you see them in the mirror turn around and look

This is a Mustang forum; you're going to find a lot of love for the car from the enthusiasts on here, but most of us are coming from other marques that we did not loath for every second we drove them. The German car baiting is generally done in jest however if it offends you you don't need to read it. Lastly, I would hardly say blind loyalty to one brand constitutes a serious issue.

Just look at any Forum matey, they are all the same. Some believe what they are saying and others say it in jest. Makes me laugh when you look at the American Mustang and Camaro owners slagging each others brands off!

I have found many BMW owners more than happy to take admiring glances at my car and I am happy to return that admiring glance when I see an M4 or even more so, a classic M3.....and as for 1980s 6 series! mmmmm

Yes I said that out loud.

That's exactly the point I was trying to make.
I don't take any offence to bashing BMW or any other brand.
Just voicing my disagreement to that point of view though.

Yeh Same.
I am a car nut first
American Muscle car fan next and then
Ford Mustang fan.

BTW, I just read my post in your quote and see that the word 'matey' in print may look a bit patronising. It was meant to be friendly sounding...if you get my drift?

I was merely making an observation guys!! :paddle:

I am speaking from having an A5 Black Edition as my last car & nobody batted an eyelid, as it quite a 'common sight' on the roads.

Guess I am just adjusting to having an unusual car from the norm! :ford:

We might have another 'Anyone offended' thread started by you in a minute matey :paddle::paddle:]

The Mustang will get looks as much as your mclarens, aventadors, I8's, SLRs, R8s will get, because they're not NORMAL cars, the AUdi/BMW/Merc saloons all have a common theme and are seen in their thousands on UK roads, whereas a mustang isn't. This effect is reversed in america where Mercedes, BMWs and Audi's will turn heads more than the common Mustang. It's a rarity thing over a brand thing, the Mustang brand however does hold a lot of weight in most car peoples minds and hearts if you ask me.
vikz55 i was more saying the inferiority/superiority complex in jest :D
