A quick search of my area just for reference:

Within 500 miles of my zip code there are:

Camaro: 722 total, 428 (2016), 294 (2015)
Mustang: 787 total, 716 (2016), 70 (2015), 1 (2013, a Boss 302)

Since the Mustang made the change over in the Summer, it makes sense that there are far fewer 2015 sitting around than Camaro. But it does say that there are quite a few 2015 Camaros still sitting on lots, you can make your own conclusion on how many of the Jan/Feb sales were 2015 vs. 2016. I have only seen 1 2016 Camaro on the road so far (the guy was driving like a total ass) but to be fair, I only saw a small handful of s550 on the road at this time last year as well. Also to be fair, it takes me a little while to figure out that what I am looking at is, in fact, a 2014/2015 vs. what "may be" a 2016 Camaro.
I bought my Mustang about a year ago, and right after I bought it I started noticing one maybe once a week or maybe a little more often than that. Like you, I've seen one new Camaro on the road. One.

Although, who knows if those 2016 Camaros are actually on the lot. I've seen more than a few that were listed on the website as inventory but haven't actually arrived yet.

Gotta love shit talking camaro owners that wont post in the threads but pm you. I guess they think their stay will last that way.
there is no reason they should talk crap at all.gm went BANKRUPT,never paid all of that money back.they are gonna start selling a car that was made in china, and to show just how stupid they are, they really think the CRAPMARO is gonna be 50 years old when in reality it will be 43 if im not mistaken.they forgot about the time the MUSTANG put the SCRAPMARO in the grave.:lol::ford:

When my partner was spec'ing out his order for his 2016 GT, he also looked at a 2016 Camaro SS. When I looked into the Camaro, I was blown away by the pricing. A 1SS starts at 3k more than a base GT, and a 2SS starts at 4K more than a Premium GT. A loaded 2SS can go for 49k! How is that even worth the money over a fully loaded GT? I could get a fully loaded GT convertible for the same money.

Go drive a 49k Camaro, with active exhaust and Magnetic Ride and all the goodies.

It's a 49k car for better or worse.

Yeah it's hard to compare a loaded GT to a loaded SS. The SS has a ton more options the GT doesn't even offer.

Sticker on my PP was $45,885, but I didn't pay that, and I got a 0% interest for 6 year loan. Still too much money. There isn't that big of a difference in pricing, not enough to effect sales. But I do have Recaro seats and Adaptive cruise control, two things that I believe the Camaro doesn't offer. I'll trade my adaptive cruise for HUD anyday though.

In my opinion, the reason they're not selling that well is that it wasn't a drastic redesign. You can barely tell the new from the old from a distance.

Zane i just gotta say you do an amazing job of remaining cordial with the crap you have to read on this site sometimes. My head would have exploded long ago and the banhammer would have dropped.

Performance wise in stock form the SS is the clear winner, but I think the pool of people who care about that is small. Most will either mod or dont care that much about it to sway their purchase.
The price, practicality and looks are what will sell most cars and the Mustang is the winner in those categories. I think the styling on the Camaro was a big mistake, but honestly I thought the 5th gen was terrible also and people seemed to buy plenty of those so I guess anything can happen....we shall see

ZaneWayne what are the Camaro purists saying about the re-design? Do they also think Chevy should have came out with a major re-design? Just curuious.

Most Camaro purist like the styling. But it's because they loved the 5th gen and the 6th gen is just a slightly different version. I really enjoy the styling inside and out. Yes it is cartoonish lol.

I am a girls basketball coach and elementary special education teacher. My patience level and skin is pretty thick haha.

But I would agree that the SS is clearly the better performer in every single way. But, as I've said before it should be due to its pricing.

Just goes to show that guys/gals believe in their brand, that's healthy IMO. It's what keeps the Ford vs Chevy vs Dodge rivalry alive! I'm still looking to lock horns with an SS.
