Dude...

That's incredibly light for a supercharged car.

Remember, the zo6 isn't N/A anymore.

And it's still 200 lbs or so lighter than the 350. Nearly a hundred for the R.
I know dude, but it still isn't ultra lightweight, doesnt matter as much when it has 650hp.

Ok. I don't know when I said ULTRA lightweight.

But a TRACK READY car that is SUPERCHARGED weighing what it does in this day, it is VERY lightweight.

Lighter thn the gt350R by nearly 100 lbs.

And that's without carbon fiber wheels in addition to adding supercharger ballast.

It's a lot lighter than the 350, a lot more powerful, and S a different class of car entirely

That was the point of showing the flaw in this comparison especially when you add the fact that the top of the line zo6 was being compared to the lowest gt350.

This explains the guy who followed me to work and up 3 levels in our private parking lot to check out my GT350! He said he had just bought his 911 and when I passed him he had never imagined the GT350 would sound like that in person! He was impressed and I thought he was a bit weird.
GT350 has a sort of exotic car effect on people - car enthusiasts generally go nuts when they see it - will stalk you, take pictures, and possibly follow you and wait to ask questions. Just part of ownership I guess, still getting used to it myself - don't mind as I enjoying talking cars.

I drove the C7 Z51 for three days at the Ron Fellows School, and now drive a 2016 GT350 Track Pack.

Both cars are amazing, and very well rounded. The Vette is more luxurious, and a Z06 will be much faster than a GT350. But the GT350 is still very fast!

First, I'm not a fan of the supercharger in the Z06. I'd rather have the Z51, Grand Sport, or a Viper. In naturally aspirated form you a trading off an excellent top end in the Voodoo for an excellent low end in the LT1. LT4 is strong everywhere of course, but prone to overheating (probably not as bad as the base and tech pack GT350 though).

The shifter on my GT350 is precise, but needs some force to get into gear. It works better at high RPM than low. Not sure if that is common to the GT350, or just my car. I do have trouble getting it into first gear sometimes - it'll stick 1/2 way and I will need to go to neutral and double clutch to get the gears aligned. I remember the C7's shifter as being fine. No real issues but some in the class complained about getting mixed up between 3rd and 5th gears.

The C7 is lower, and feels sportier because of it. I think it is also a bit better balanced with more front grip, but it's tough to say for sure. The handling on the GT350, especially in sport or track modes is very lively and controlled. The car hides is weight extremely well due to the excellent suspension tuning. In normal mode it feels heavier because it isn't as well damped and you start to feel the body roll and notice the time it takes to get settled in corners.

The recaros in the GT350 are the best seats I've ever experienced. Very comfortable yet secure. Love them.

GT350 is definitely louder, and has a cleaner sound that I prefer. The C7 can be loud, but is raspier. I always liked the clean burble that Mustangs have seemed to possess for ages. The GM engines don't sound as good to me. They are good, just not as good as the Mustangs.

In normal mode I feel that the GT350 is a bit too soft. Feels too normal. In sport and track mode it feels amazing. I like to drive in sport mode all the time except for when I want to be quiet, at which point I use the steering wheel control to quickly toggle to normal mode.

Both cars look amazing IMO. I'm not a huge fan of the Alice Cooper vents on the rear of the Vette though. The Mustang is classy from the rear view, and mean from the front. All of the vents look well placed and purposeful. Overall the car is beautiful, elegant, and aggressive. The C7 is aggressive but is missing the elegance. But I still love the looks of it overall.

The C7 certainly has more tech features, like the HUD, PDR, and rev matching. None are of critical importance, but they are nice features. The interior of the GT350 isn't as nice, but it is perfectly fine for me. I do appreciate having physical buttons and knobs for many of the features, rather than a touch screen.

My decision was between the C7 Z51, Cayman S/GTS, and GT350. I love my GT350. I think I would also love the C7, but I can take my kids around in the GT350 which is a great bonus. And I felt that the LT1 was a little flat at the top of the RPM range. Great as a daily driver though due to that torque. I do notice the lack of low-end on the GT350, but rev it out past 3500 and it comes to life in a big way.

I knew the GT350 was going to be a great "fun" car, but I am really impressed with how good a daily driver it is. I would definitely recommend getting a version with the magnetic shocks because I think they allow the car to be extremely flexible, although it is possible that the standard shocks are close. Fuel economy coupled with a small gas tank is a bit of a drag though.

Can't go wrong with either car IMO.

I had to get used to this when I bought my GT-R. I was very odd. People would be taking pictures/video while I was driving, enticing me to race, etc. Always coming up at the gas station. “What is that?!” “It’s a Nissan GT-R.” “That’s a Nissan?! You sure?” “Pretty sure…” “Want to trade?!” Sometimes you just want to pump gas and be left alone, ha.

Where do you live? Perhaps someone will let you take their THREE FIVE O for a spin. I have a GT350 and am happy to let my friends take it for a spin. (near Toronto)

Unless you are going to seriously race the car, buy the GT350. I have had Vettes for years and they are great cars but not very practical.

Ford will probably never make a Voodoo again. The GT350 gives you the best of both worlds and feels more exotic.

Part of the reason I decided to get the GT350... there are a crap load of GTR's in my area. Yeah, it was on the top of my list and I still would love to have one of them... even before they hit the US shores. Two days ago there was a Deep Blue Pearl GTR who tried to catch up to me between red lights... he/she didn't make it. Funny thing is and little does he/she know but I've parked next this same GTR at work in my other car. In other words... I could tell this person really wanted to check out my GT350.

Thanks everyone for very valuable feedback. At the moment I am leaning towards Z06 as I can get a brand new one for 78k with a few packages and the cheapest GT350 I found with track pack is for 69k. The 9k difference and 6 month wait and the fact that one car is significantly faster makes it a difficult choice. My heart wants 350, but again, the waitlist and the ADM just really give me cold feet.

It's a personal decision and absolutely nothing wrong with that. Btw, the biggest current discount I am aware of on a new Z06 whether in inventory or as a buld order is 9% off msrp and w/o dealer fees. PM me if this is something you'd like to inquire about.

Yes that is the discount I am getting from Kerbeck. Thinking I dont need Z07 package and will stick with basic 1LT.

Nice, a good deal... yeah Kerbeck as being #1 and the other top 2-3 Corvette dealers have the ability to discount large. I have a manual 1LZ with PDR/Nav as the sole option (which is a must IMO due to the PDR functionality). Sticker back in 12/14 was 80,790 and back then there was a 1k rebate that month. The 16's have a few more standard additions now like front camera, Apple carplay, and power trunk... the cool thing is that even with a 1LZ the HUD is also standard. A performance & tech bang for the buck for sure. Maybe later on you can add a GT350 once the prices stabilize.... a nice pair to have. Good luck and have fun!

That is a hell of a car for the money!! I will be in the market for a track car next summer, and will have a similar decision. Whatever is more readily available between a Corvette GS and a GT350 will find itself in my garage.

Good luck with your purchase, enjoy!!
