hey guys i need some help here. i getting a Whipple supercharger for my 2016 gt. on Monday lethal performance will have a 10% on Whipple. what i been debating about is if i should get the upgraded 132mm TB. with the dual 11" fans. with the 10% off the kit would be around $7400. without them it would be around $6700. is it worth upgrading the TB and the fans? or can i do that later on. also my car is the Performance Package with the 3.73 gears. can i keep these gears?

Technically your fine if you don't upgrade, and you would be fine with 3.73s. However both are def worth doing.

Not upgrading the 3.73s will mean just more wheelspin

will it be more likely to brake axles and driveshafts with the 3.73? also wheel spin at launch or anytime?

They recommend the 72lbs injectors when adding the Bigger Tb as well, it goes up to 7860 with the 10% , or didnt you choose the tuner one?

I would highly recommend getting the 132mmTB, dual fans and 72# injectors. The extra cost is well worth it. Whipple will be the first to tell you that it drives better with the 132mm TB and with their newest cal you're going to want the 72# injectors to keep it from running lean. If you don't do anything to your suspension you will experience wheel hop (first time I experienced it was after Whipple install) You'll just have to do some suspension mods to stop it. These are going to be a personal choice as there are many options between BMR and Steeda. Check out my build thread, mine is a 2016 GT PP w/ 3.73's and I absolutely love it and no problems with the 3.73's. Best of luck and congratulations on soon being a member of the Whipple family

Adrian5_0 just noticed you live in Garden Grove as well . We can hook up and I can give you a ride so you can feel what you'll be getting. Who are you having do the install?

The stock TB SUCKS! I tried it and it was horrible. Get the 132mm TB and 72lb injectors. It is well worth it.

The 132mm throttle body, 72 lb inj. and flare tool are a must do, they are needed for the new calibration with flight controls and guardian features. You do not want to be left on the side lines with out this becuase whipple is always improving their calibration. You don't need to change your gears ever unless you want to and the dual fans I passed on from whipple. I baught my own dual spal fans and wired them myself for $ 130. If this is a street car you can get by on the stock clutch for a while. Wheel hop mods will be needed as well BMR has some great stuff give them a call.

Just to throw a wrench in all the 'get 72lb in injector' posts. I'm running FMS 52# injectors on my kb car. Fueling is just fine and my tune is pretty conservative on 93 octane. Get the bigger TB, but the injector might be overkill

With 72lb injectors you dont need the BAP and at 750RWHP the 5xlb injectors are about maxed out.

I didn't need the BAP with 52's either according to Travis. I just opted to because I was skeptical and for a later down the road type of thing

Without a doubt get the 72# squirters, 132mm TB and fans.

What will happen is you will always want them if you don't and then have a duplication of effort and the extra cost to later install ends up being more time and $ in the end than if you just got it all from the get go.

TB is where it's at for drivability, hands down.

72#'ders will keep your fuel demands at bay.

Get the Flare / Canelope hand held, worth it's weight in gold. Especially if you do change your gears.

3.31 gears are absolutely wonderful and are without a doubt the best gear for this setup but not a necessity. You can swap later if you want and with the handheld it's a breeze to reprogram the gear size to the car.

The only suspension part that I say definitely upgrade are the axles. This is true even if staying naturally aspirated imho but pretty much a must with FI. Everything else is preference and how far you are trying to go with your build.

Oh and about the 3.73s, I'll agree they're a bit much. Id love to get a taller gear. 3.31 or 3.15
