That's where I am. If the Raxiom unit hits the $500 price range and eliminates Sync, I'm in. Otherwise I'm pretty happy with the Tomtop unit even with its flaws.

Sounds good, man! If they do it right, you guys will for sure have a home run with this kit.

Hi Everyone, Sorry to jump into this thread late but a google search led me here after 2 days of researching this. I have a 2015 Ecoboost (Non Premium) and like many have the 4.2 screen which I now regret. I didn't think it would be difficult to have someone upgrade me to the 8 inch screen down the road. The dealership makes it sound like that's impossible so here I am.

I want to make sure I'm understnading this .. My options CURRENTLY to get the larger screen and add of course add NAV are the tomtop unit and that's about it right? It sounds like it's still a gamble though when it comes to reliability. Does installing this void any part of the factory warranty by the way? The other option is Raxion, however, not out right (assuming it even will come out). Am I correct with there really only being one option since there's no way to current install a Pioneer or similar system? I've never done a car audio install and some of the youtube videos I've seen on this so far look difficult so I would likely have a a place do the install for me which sounds pricey I'm guessing...

Any advice you could give this newb would be appreciated. I'll follow the thread in the meantime. Thanks!

If you have an extra $1000 you could do a full MFT swap. Premium bezel and all.

I spoke with a local car stereo shop. They did a custom set up for a new Mustang but the dude advised it was pretty expensive because it was completely custom.

Any pics or more information on what they did?

No. I only spoke briefly about it. I think they put in a custom Pioneer system if I remember correctly.

Apparently these guys have been around forever in my area. If you are interested in knowing what they did, might as well call them up at the Encino location and ask them about the custom install they did on a new Mustang.

So basically the factory 8 inch screen is the $1,000 MFT swap? I asked a dealership about upgrading and they made it sound like you can't upgrade with the genuine Ford units. When you say Premium Bezel what is that? $1,000 is quite steep. Sounds like this $300 unit that's out currently is basically the same thing no?
