This is the R-specific follow-up thread to New for 2017 GT350. Per our resident mole handler R 350 gt Donson, it seems that we've got pretty good insight on the updates expected for non-R models. For Rs, however, things remain a bit murky. As intel comes in, I propose we use this thread to keep the updates clear.

This doesn't make sense on the Rs:

... it seems that everyone has to get A/C, and mag ride, coolers, on both R or non R cars, however you can delete the radio and other opt if you want...
For '16, the only R choices were:

Base: No A/C, No radio/navigation
Electronics Package: A/C, radio/navigation/etc.

If the intel is correct, '17 R choices will be:

Base: A/C, No radio/navigation (no non-A/C option available)
Electronics Package: A/C, radio/navigation/etc. (same as '16)

Is that a correct assessment as to what we think we might possibly could maybe know about the '17 Rs as of today?

The way I read that, no navigation for the R, just basic radio

With my 2016 R, I added electronics pack.
Came with stereo, Nav, Sync ( not sure which version)
Duel air, back up camera, carpet in truck, inflator kit.

One thing - now that you can effectively get an electronics and track pack in the same non-r, that takes that "neat" part away from an R, IMO.

The 17' R options are exactly the same.
Still speculative, but:

We may have the option for A/C and radio delete, which is awesome.

It seems like the Electronics Package may not come with navigation.

The Base R does not have A/C or a Radio/Nav. Electronics adds both back.

I think the 'neat' part of the R is that you can get it without electronics...oh, and it's got carbon wheels and a big-ass wing. ;-)

All information remains speculative pending official word from Ford, but R 350 gt Donson has been right a lot. Do you have different inside information or are you interpreting today's release/leak?

Yup. Lots of non-R owners have wanted both Tech and Track for a long time. But a Tech + Track does not equal an R; wheels, tires, wing, rear seat delete, suspension tuning, and a few stylistic things remain exclusive to the R.

Simply my interpretation of that graphic.

I could be wrong though. The radio is listed twice and A/C isn't. So it's possible you simply get a basic manual A/C with the base R.

Look at it from Fords perspective. Not many people bought them base; it costs Ford more to have the no-ac variation. What they've done now is give them the exact same base with minimal bolt-on changes to make the "track" base model into a tech or an R.
