i had a 14" rotor kit on my '13 gt. i liked them. big reason i got them was they cleared the spokes on the factory 18" rims. i now have a pp with the brembos and like them also. i think it's pretty much a toss up. one thing i'd shy away from is drilled or slotted rotors, but my kit was a slotted and it wasn't too bad even on track. two piece are expensive to replace and you are kind of stuck with wilwood replacements. although there's a place in wisconsin that will make rotors for you if you send them one at 1/2 the price.

i know at least one of the shelby cars had a 14" wilwood kit.

Why are drilled/ slotted rotors bad? Don't they dissipate heat well? Not to mention they look cool

They definitely look cool, but the drill holes weaken the rotor. Cracks often start at the holes. Slots are a toss up. They lessen the surface area, but allow debris to escape.

My biggest issue with Willwood is that their two piece rotors aren't really "two piece". They are but in my opinion they are not built correctly. Higher end two piece discs have slots so that the rotor and hub can independently expand and contract.

The wilwoods just bolt the hubs directly to the rings.

Is there an AP Racing solution for the S550 stang? I have them on my Lotus and am very impressed.

They are close.

To be honest with you the GT PP monobloc caliper and AP 2 piece disc is hard to beat. I still haven't found its limits at the road course.

Unfortunately, I have the base GT. Although I could buy the upgraded PP brake kit. But it only changes the front brakes. Do you think the single floating piston in the rear is sufficient for track use?

Yes. Even if it wasn't, which it is, you could buy two PP front brake sets and just do some fabrication for the rears for basically the same price as just the front Wilwood set.

Can you describe the level of fabrication needed? I have a PP and that would be awesome if possible to have them in rear.

I'm not sure, I would imagine seeing if the front mounting hardware would work on the rears. I am also not sure if you would need any different lines.
