Any thoughts??

I realize they will more than likely build the Non-R for 2017, but is their a minor chance the Sport Cup tire is making the R car too difficult to build in the colder climate area?

Will we only see a 2015 and 2016 (2 year run) of the 350R?

The count on R's at the beginning of this month was 49.

Ford could build as many as they have parts for. How many that will be is hard to say. I'm confident the final number will be less than 500.

There is a historical reason why they only built 37 MY15 R's

I wouldn't imagine that Ford would sell the 350 and not the R. They've spent tons on developing these cars and they'll surely sell both for as long as the model is intended to be on the market.

If there was issues getting ahold of the Cup 2 tires, they could always switch to a different tire.

As one who is waiting for a base R, with all the delays, and considering the MY16/17 build/ordering schedule posted on this site (was surprised how early they stop MY16 production), it certainly appears they will not hit the original target.

No one ever clearly stated a number, but I heard the 5000/500 numbers mentioned most often. Have also heard repeatedly that the actual numbers would be like the Boss, which was a little less.

The smaller the number, the more rare they will all be. Looks like the base R is ordered the least (~2% of total orders), so I am guess there will ultimately be only around 60-100 of these. :headbang:

actual boss LS numbers were higher than 500, I believe...and I think all Ford's approximations are just that, approximations.

No doubt, though, that the base R will be a rare beast.

Considering MY 2016 orders can still be filled for a month and the 2017 production doesn't begin until June 2nd 2016, there is still plenty of time to build another 450+ cars. Its been posted many times that R model production would cease over the coldest winter months and resume in March of 2016.

I don't think time is the issue, they could build 450 Rs in a week if they really wanted to, its how many actual R allocations were released in the first place.

I thought I read about 4500 Boss's and about 700 LS's. Who knows, but I thought I read this comparison in several places. Probably 4xxx 350s and 4xx Rs.

Now that it looks like base R is out for MY17, this will be the lightest track version of them all. Exactly what I wanted. :D

Of the 49 R's built are these 2016 or including the 2015 R's also.
Mine is chassis # GR044
Curious for the total built to date?

^^ I know the word is that about 50 2016s have been built. On one hand, I'd say to enjoy the exclusivity....on the other hand - I hope your car becomes 10x less exclusive as I'm waiting for mine, too. ;) :)
