Anyone use something like this?

http://www.amazon.com/DI-120-Cr-Spo...?srs=8427487011&ie=UTF8&qid=1455124607&sr=8-1

Not having to hand dry my car is a big selling point and the Amazon reviews look pretty good.
I have the same thing, except the dual tank model on wheels. Works great like it's supposed too. I put a Y fitting from Lowe's on the outside faucet so I could still use the regular garden hose water and a quick disconnect fitting on one end and the other on the CR unit. Now I roll it out, quick-connect, turn on. I use the regular hose for initial pre-soak/wash and follow up with the spotless to rinse off.

You can leave it sit out in the July sun and won't have a single water spot as long as you rinse correctly.

Thanks! It does really look convenient and I feel like I am applying too much pressure when I had dry and leaving scratches.

yea you are not supposed to press down when drying. just simply drag the towel over the surface.

Actually, no. It's quite the opposite lol. A water softener uses saltinization to filter hard minerals to make it "softer" but leaves a fair amount of minerals and sodium in the water. Therefore still leaving a significant amount of minerals to be left behind as spots.

This puts the water through a "deionization" process that pulls every mineral out of the water leaving it pure water. It's so pure that they put warning labels all over it not to drink it, simply because there's no minerals or nutrients in the water that your body needs.

What is this you speak of? Washing a car at home by hand? I don't think they even sell garden hoses anymore here in California... :(

I had the Costco 2-canister version but returned it. I think it may have something to do with the sealant/wax you use but the car still needed more drying than extra time it took to use the system. But I was already pretty damn good at getting the tap water to sheet off so maybe didn't have that much to gain.

But I do agree that you want the minimum paint contact with anything while drying so went with an 8HP heated air dryer that never leaves any water to remove by contact.

If anyone buys the system, be aware that they are sensitive to the flow rate of the water. If you don't have a pressure/flow gauge, you may need to fiddle with the knob on the bib to get it optimal.

I called my water utility and they said while the outside watering restrictions are still in effect I am legally allowed to wash my car whenever I want as long as I have a shut off nozzle on the hose.

How long does the filter, or whatever it uses last? And what is the cost to replace, refill it?

With the leaf blower I do have some touch up with a micro fiber towel.
