Hi everyone. Ive never baught a new car before let alone ordered one,but i have wanted a 2016 mustang fore sometime so i went to a dealer and told them what i was looking for, and they thought it would be easiest to order one with what i want. After i filled out an aplication for financing i thought they were running my aplication, but came back with my mustang allready ordered. When i asked about the otd price, they told me they cant use the current incentives and rebates, just the ones when it arrives and didnt give me a price. Anyone heard this before? This doesnt sound right to me. By reading this forum it seams like most had a price figured out before it was ordered. I never signed any paperwork. Just wondering if i should pull the plug on this before a vin gets made.

So, they can give you a price, but that price would be dependent on the incentives at the time of delivery, not at the time of the order. The incentives should be shown on the paperwork. so that can see the impact.

You said you "filled out an application"...but also "I never signed any paperwork". So there was no signature on the application?

Just from your description it sounds like the salesman is way off base. Never heard of any salesmen making it so cut and dry with zero discussion of incentives/rebates/etc.

Also, still curious how you were able to place an order without any signatures?

Run don't walk away from that dealership, it's shady.

1) You can get current incentives locked in as well as qualify for some additional incentives when the car is delivered.

2) Not giving you a price is BS.

Run hard and fast.

Find a dealership that isn't run by crooks.

The dealership I went through said I would get either the incentives when I signed or when I took delivery, whichever ones were higher. Sounds like this dealership is trying to rip you off. Tell us the name so everyone can black list them.lol

My dealer and several others told me that is delivery date, not order date that impacts incentives. Let us know how it works out if the incentives at order date was better.

Thanks!

No every dealer or at least (legit) ford dealers will honor to types of incentives. Its always either the incentives when the vehicle is ordered or the incentives when it is delivered. Nothing in the middle

OP your dealer is shady. run from them go to someone else.

Maybe in Canada, but per you post, I called Ford. They told me time of delivery.

Not worried, get A plan price, so I am good.

I ordered A-Plan also and was told incentives at time of delivery. Also we did not do the loan papers until the car comes in. They did show me the price of the car and we agreed on the trade in price.

I agree with the others - something doesn't sound right.

When I ordered mine, I told them what I wanted and they too said it would be easier to do a factory order. So we built it, figured out a rough estimate on price (with current incentives) and when I said YES, that's when they took me to do the financial part of it. They would not actually order the car until I was approved for financing though, and that makes sense.

However, once I was approved, the car was officially ordered and I got my order number a couple days later.

The salesman told me that if when I take delivery, they are offering a better incentive package or some kind of promotion, that I have the option of taking whichever deal is better.

But also, I wasn't trading in or anything of the sort. I said I have 10K now, but could easily have 15K cash by the time the car comes in. So, that made them move a little quicker! :)
