GT350R Wing Replica/Style vs Real OEM Wing

Below is a comparison of the GT350R style wings vs the original GT350R wing.

The wing hangs out further than the rear of the car on the replica as seen in the pics below. Currently there isn't an aftermarket manufacturer that doesn't have this problem.

It's either mount it with existing holes, or drill new holes.

If you look closely at the factory mounting position of the R version (plenty of pics if you google it), the edges of the Ford spoiler base is aligned with the back and side edges of the trunk.

Same mounting position with the aftermarket spoiler, but the lower portion of the pedestal looks to be a slightly different configuration.

Yea causes it to look way off.

No, I have seen the mounting points of the R from under the truck, and the way you guys mounted yours is way off. Whoever you bought this from probably recommended installing it at that angle because he/she wanted you to use factory holes.

I don't think it is the mounting holes. If you look at this photo (please forgive my poor photo editing skills!), you can see how the base angles forward and how much of the base is visible from the side vs. the replica. This positions the front edge of the wing almost to the fuel door.

The wings are different because they have to be. If they made exact replicas they would get a cease and desist letter from Ford immediately.

No they are not. The R wing is mounted differently. Totally different location. I've also seen the R under the trunk.

HCM for sure and yes my body shop guy used new mounting holes to move it back a little.

NONE of the replicas are exact or the real thing because they are replicas. Who is gonna pay 6 or 7 k for the real part? One out of 10000 people may even?..shucks I'd buy a whipple or Roush supercharger with the dough into saved.


I got my wing in early stages I suspect each company will come closer to original as more cars reach production and it becomes less popular as the 18s or 19s are totally restyled.
