why are you against it? It will boost the performance of the coyote, and it should be cheaper than the dual injection system...
Do a search of DI problems. I had a Mazdaspeed and by 20k miles your valves were all gunked up. We had valve cleaning meets LOL. A secondary injection system would keep the valves clean.

This. DI has more problems than it's worth. It might boost the performance for the first 20-30,000 miles of the engine's life, after that nothing but problems with carbon buildup.

I've seen near complete port blockage as early as 15,000 miles on a Mercedes M276 3.5 DI V6 that I've worked on.

I personally would like to see the Coyote have the DI/PI hybrid setup like the new GT has...the 2.0L Boxer motor from the ToyaBaru twins has that hybrid system and as near as I have read hasn't had valve and port coking issues.

There are very smart people in Ford Powertrain Engineering ;)

I saw a really interesting thread over on reddit that strongly implies DI is on the way out. I can't claim to be a mechanical genius but it's an interesting read and seems like it's going to mean really great efficiency improvements.

They have been talking about those camless valves for a long time, would love to seem it actually end up in the 5.0 but i am not holding my breath.
Yea, even if it is as close to being in production as they state ("In final testing with OEM's"), it will still probably hit the engines where it will make the most difference first. I would imagine you see this showing up in trucks first before it trickles down to other vehicles.

I believe its a GM/Ford collaboration too. So will be interesting to see how the car mags manage to say the Mustang has a better transmission than the Camaro when they are reviewing the Mustang and the opposite when they are reviewing the Camaro but they can't resist hyping whatever car is the subject of a review.
I would highly doubt that they will have exactly the same engine. My guess would be that they co-developed the technology, but the implementation would be specific to each manufacturer. That way they research and jointly overcome roadblocks through technology but are free to build the end product outside of the joint venture.

So, June 3rd 2019.

Now, is that an on sale date or the date it's first shown to the public?

April 17th 2019 will be the Mustang's 55th birthday. Please have another party in Vegas.....and show off the '20MY. The 50th birthday party was an awesome trip for little 'ol TT :ford:

I don't know about you guys, but I'm starting to think that there will be no changes to the 2017 model other than the already anounced Sync mumbo jumbo and the modified paint choices. It's already February 5th and there hasn't been any real whispers of any other changes, wheather minor or major so I suppose my hopes of the Performance Pack being offered with an auto are essentialy a long shot.

Oh well; Seeing as I'm not really thrilled with the new for 2017 color options, I may as well order a 2016 within the next couple of weeks.

Now, if only I can just make up my mind on the 3 colors I want. Deep impact blue, Ruby red, or Guard. Damn, it's going to be a hard one. :D

I think it's highly unlikely there will be any major changes to the '17... If anybody is thinking about buying one, best thing to do is to wait till July/August and get '16 on 0/60 deal which is pretty awesome...
