I wouldn't mind a double din dash kit as long as we can retain SYNC ...
No.
No no.
No no no no no.
Fuck no.

Sync is the biggest POS operating system I've ever had in a car. There isn't a single feature of this radio that hasn't just refused to work randomly for no reason at all multiple times in the last few months.

This new thing better be ditching Sync entirely and running something reliable.

You heard that too huh?

Show of hands on whose interested?

:D

I'll update when I have info!
Only if it does not use sync. Any aftermarket should be able to perform the hands free functions and integrate sw controls on its own. With all the issues sync has, if this unit uses sync, then it's just not going to perform adequately.

+1. I'd sell my Tomtop at a loss. I'm not a fan of Sync: It is way, way, way too buggy.

(Also, seriously? I listen to a lot of podcasts. Sync receives the total length of the podcast; why can it not display my position or duration listened, too?)

Exactly! To be honest, sync is the only reason i want to replace the system! I couldnt care less about the size of the screen, i just want the Bluetooth on my brand new $30,000 car to work at least as good as the $20 portable speaker i got from target.

Definitely interested here. The small bugs in the units we've been trying out from overseas just pile up too quickly. A version designed for the US market with a channel to receive support is definitely what I'm looking for.

the infotainment upgrade for the 2016 models is literally the only reason I didn't buy a 2015, but waited for a 2016. Now that I have the '16 I really hate the older MFT in my Focus ST which is what you 2015 folks are saddled with

I have the premium and I'm very happy it with it and have no complaints with SYNC. That being said I am glad to see the aftermarket jumping in on the S550 quicker than they did the 2010-2014 models. Raxiom however, in my opinion, made one fugly looking aftermarket radio for the S197. I hope they build a better looking kit for the S550 folks that are looking to upgrade.

Ive had 5 different fords with SYNC and never had any issues with it. It doesn't lag for me and has never failed. :)
