People who have/ordered black roofs: Why?

Is there a reason why you chose a $700 option as opposed to just putting black vinyl over it for ~$100? Was it convenience? I think that's a great way to save ~$600, and when it gets ugly in a few years, you can have a brand spanking new one on top. And you can switch back to the original color on a whim if your tastes changes.

Convenience and less "ghetto". $700 less isn't much of a difference for a $60k+ car.

I originally didn't have a black roof because I was going to do a vinyl wrap, im so glad I did get the black roof because it looks like glass on top of the car and its beautiful, NO RAGRETS

Personally, I don't' understand the black roof trend anyway.

Looks weird to me, and seems like a great way to get the interior of your car even hotter on a summer day.

An actual glass roof would be awesome, though.

So you don't get the black roof trend but a heavy glass roof makes sense to you?

I think the black roofs look really good on some colors. The stripes are a little boy racer though... ;)

I ordered black roof with black stripes on magnetic. I think it helps offer a good two tone look from the factory.

Factory glass roof only added 28 lbs to my '14 GT and is worth every penny and pound, IMO. One of things I love best about my '14. Waiting for Ford to offer a glass roof on the S550's.

We get plenty of summer days in the 90-100 range where I live. My '14 Glass Roof GT isn't any hotter inside than my other cars. It's solar glass and there's a pull shade, as well.

Yeah, it is solar glass... Still allows for increased ambient temps from all the people and the salesman that I have talked to. One guy had a tint shop put a layer of ceramic tint on his at 85%... He said it cut the temps down considerably and he had to use the A/C less.

But here's the elephant in the room question... Why a panoramic roof on a racecar? Makes no sense. 28 pounds is top-heavy weight.

It cost a lot to reduce weight everywhere in the car - why undo all that work by adding any amount of weight, especially at the top of the car.

The mustang is not a race car. If you're building a race car, you wouldn't add a glass roof.

For a regular street driver, 28 lbs is nothing.

Edit: just realized I'm in the gt350 section, so race car holds a little bit of weight.
