Though they are great, I am happy to take it to local Jaguar specialist because they are pretty superb with anything cars, every mechanic there can build an engine with their eyes closed, one is an ex lemans pit crew engine builder so they could do it, hell I could do it myself it really is a very simple job.

Ford have either not followed the correct tightening sequence or over torqued it and crushed the gasket, or it the gaskets maybe requires some RTV silicon gasket like engine sump gaskets do and they did not include any.

You need to follow a certain protocol before claiming. I suggest you read up on it as just getting the work done and sending Ford an invoice is unlikely to work.

Hi there

So today in full, I got a call around 10am from Lauren at Ford Executive office saying the coolant flush had arrived at the dealership and they were working on my car and it was looking good to get the car back today.

I got a call around 3pm from my dealership, Bristol Street Stoke-on-Trent saying the car was ready to collect, so I arrived around 16:00, I requested the warranty paper work which they photocopied for me. In short it showed the car had new oil cooler, oil cooler gasket, coolant flush along with new coolant and 8l of Castrol 5W-20 and new oil filter all covered by warranty.

They confirmed the car had not being washed externally or internally as I requested this, though I did request the under-side was cleaned from oil, but I never chased on this. The other warranty work the car was in for they only did body work, but failed to fit new puddle lamp and drivers glass. They confirmed the puddle lamp was in stock but I'd have to bring it back, I told them its a 5 minute job do it whilst I wait or give me the part and I will fit it. They would not give me the part and came back saying it takes longer as mirror has to be removed, which is complete BS the part just clips out and clips back in. Again unwilling to bend over backwards to support the customer and instead saying bring it back one afternoon, I said its OK you have had my car long enough, I am taking it and it won't be back for a long time.

So I drove the car back to OcUK which is circa 5 mile journey and of course like any enthusiast upon returning to work I popped the bonnet, all looked good, coolant upto level, oil on the dip stick. So I took a look under-neath and on initial check the car looked oil free underneath certainly not soaked on the subframe like it was previously. But then I noticed oil on the subframe bolts, small but there so they either did a poor attempt at wiping the car down or it was leaking again.

So I drove down to my mates unit who has a ramp and lots of brake cleaner who agreed to give it a proper clean down and inspect for leaks.

Arrived CPP Auto Works:

Lots of oil spotted dangerously close to exhaust still (FIRE HAZARD, so they either did not clean the car well or this was fresh)

Brake fluid cleaning and wipe down to remove all oil:

All oil cleaned off and no signs of it leaking anywhere, car was still red hot too, so then we started it up, revved it to create high oil pressure and all of a sudden oil is weeping around oil cooler, picture below had no oil on it prior to starting vehicle:

So it appears like the car still has an oil leak, though not serious right now it is simply un-acceptable the dealership did not notice this, because we spotted it the moment the car was up on the ramp and running.

To me this just spells absolute incompetence by the dealership, this should of being spotted by them and rectified.

So they either made a half ass attempt at cleaning the under-side and left quite a bit of oil residue which explains all the oil still near the exhaust further back or the car when being driving is weaping oil quite badly as 100ml of oil looks like a huge amount, so it only takes a little to make a huge mess on the under-side.

Either way tomorrow I shall call Ford and the dealership making them aware of the situation and how unhappy I am, they can hear me out and give me options.

Tonight I have cleaned the car thoroughly as it had two months of workshop dust all over it, I also aimed the jet wash at the front under-side and also sprayed the engine bay passenger side from above, only aiming at the engine mount, oil filter and oil cooler area to wash away any further oil, so I am confident the under-side is clean.

In the morning I shall check oil level, if all is on max I shall drive to work and then onto my mates unit again and we shall re-inspect the severity of this leak. I shall report back on the severity of the leak and Ford's response.

In the meantime here is a picture of the car (before washing so dirty) at its favourite home, the Vpower pump, on the plus side the new wheel colour looks stunning and the Michelin MPSS certainly seem a wider tyre as there is more sidewall bulge even though they are same size as previous Pzero and same pressures:

Ford step up your game, because you really do suck!

It really says something when your first trip after having warranty work is to another garage to check for their fuck ups!
I had some minor warranty work done recently (same place as Gibbo)...

The first thing I did when I got home, was jack the car up and check their work..:frusty:

Being honest I have little confidence in them...

I waited 4 months for my parts. Then the cheeky bastards send me a survey form to fill in......I suspect they won't like seeing my answers:paddle::paddle:

Gonna buy new oil cooler, gasket and adapter, so changing the entire lot from USA and get a garage I trust to do work.

Will speak with Ford and dealership tomorrow to see what they are willing to do, already raised hell on Ford and the dealerships FB page. Not being quiet, calm or patient this time.
So sorry to hear it's still not fixed, I know how you feel cos I am going through the same.

Out of interest, what does your coolant and expansion tank look like?
Did you have oil in your water and did they flush it? (I see you mention they did).

I am still waiting for mine to be flushed yet again and a second expansion tank fitted though little point fitting a tank until the coolant stays clear.

If the dealer doesn't do it I was considering going elsewhere and using small claims court to claim back the cost.

My expansion tank had some faint milking, like whipped coffee, I said I expected it to be flushed. They did this because on the warranty invoice is some special coolant system flush, this is what delayed the car being collected originally as they had no stock as some parts guy shipped the bottle reserved to me elsewhere.

They said they used the entire bottle giving the system a total of 4 flushes and 3 bottles of new coolant was added, this is also on the warranty invoice.

My coolant tank is showing no signs of oil in it again, so at least they did that correctly.

Just being back on the ramp, the oil cooler as the mechanic put it, pissing out and it is a major oil leak, not terminal but it will make a big mess on the underside of the car and will beginning dripping on driveway heavily. He said it is fine to drive it, just keep an eye on oil level and push the engine hard.

In discussions with both Ford and dealership now, but this time no more Mr Nice Guy I am afraid and I will be honest I hate being a screaming / demanding customer but they pushed me to this, I've being patient, calm and gave them good chance to repair my car even though it took 7 weeks. They failed, so I now refuse to leave car with them and when they do the next repair I am insisting I am present and next to the mechanic doing it.

Not sure if below helps

http://www.motorcodes.co.uk/motorist/press-releases/ford-staff-first-to-be-adr-ready.html

"Ford has today become the first organisation to start using the online portal and its staff will be among the first employees in the UK to be compliant with the legislation, which requires businesses to direct dissatisfied customers to an approved mediator. UK businesses must comply with this legislation by 1 October 2015."

I am in the same position as you. I have been nice and patient for 4 months. I am giving the dealership (who to be fair, have been quite good) one more chance to put things right after a plea I made to the dealer principal. He is on holiday atm but when he is back, I will be speaking to him about where we go from here.

Would it be possible to see a picture of your expansion tank post repair? And can I use it in my fight to get mine fixed properly?

This is what mine looks like after numerous flushes :(

First thing I am noticing is how low your coolant looks? Is the car not level or is your car losing coolant? Shall take a picture and post it up later for you.
