I have a new P1-X kit sitting in my basement since December. I bought during Holiday sales. The reason it's in the basement is the weather still hasn't allowed me to put my current 460hp to the ground below 70mph, to say nothing of 700+ hp. That with 275 MP4S rubber, 10R80. I have a 10" square set up that I dont want to change.

So the kit sits there while I debate the risk of poor install or worse case $10k rebuild vs being able to use the power. I have a sportbike in the garage for 10 sec runs. I need to make a decision soon, install or sell.

Well...after reading your post I think you should sell. Im in Iowa (colder than St. Louey) and at almost 800 wheel on a Procharger and already out having fun....but I have MUCH different rubber on the car.....that car will NEVER hook with what you are running.

By not putting it on, you kind of already made your decision lol. If it's above 40 degrees and dry, I send it. Getting sideways is half the fun to me. I'm over the bike phase in my life so my car needs to be fast and this does the job.

Interesting. I've not really wrung my car out yet so I don't know if I truly want to Procharge it. Taking it to Auto Club Speedway this Sunday to see how it works in the quarter mile.

Hopefully the rear 305 MP4S tires allow it to hook and I can get some good runs that day. So far, 460HP has been a real kick in the ass so do I really need more HP to get myself into trouble?

Motorcycles, yes. Other things on my car, yes. For this, I want a 1 stop install-tuner shop so 1 wouldn't blame the other. There are a few well regarded shops and race team mechanics for hire in the area.

Thank you to everyone for the input. For those that inquired about the kit my intent is really not to make a back door for sale post but I will post up here and respond to PM's if I go that route.

If you had the coin to buy then I assume you had the coin to pay for install.

Money is not the issue. Value might be a question but not money.

I guess Im looking for feedback on how often you use the power. And, if its possible to hook up with more of a back roads wheel/tire combo vs drag oriented.

The value is yours not someone else’s unless your looking to sell. Sounds like you are

If respectful power modulation scares you than keep your car stock. It’s plenty to have fun with.

I don't understand how you're not able to use 460hp below 70mph... maybe try some suspension mods to put power down better?

My summer setup is wider, but my winter setup is 285 rear on winter tires. I can certainly use my power below 70mph. Sure you cant drop the pedal, but I can ease into WOT in 3rd gear for sure, and hit some boost in 2nd at part throttle. Summer tires on 275 I'm sure would be just as good if not better. The trick is to ease into WOT, don't drop the pedal instantly. The car is definitely the most fun on the highway, but I can still get fun launches on my winter setup. It's faster than stock even if you cant go WOT.

Suspension mods will help you put the power down with 275s. BMR CB005 and poly differential bushings helped my car a ton. Traction limitations suck, but FI is still fun on street tires.

However if you are on the fence, it sounds like it may not be worth the cost and hassle in the first place when some bolt ons may satisfy you enough and keep cost and risk down.
