Some people say (and have dynos) showing gains), others say they dont add any power.

Interesting..

No aftermarket CAI will give any significant gains (10+hp). The tune that goes with some CAI's will however.

I completely agree, but there seems to be a cult following here with some of the intakes.

I wouldn't say it's all placebo. I added my CAI from Roush and catback exhaust from Magnaflow. The combined addition did add roughly 33 rwhp and 70 lb-ft torque, documented on dyno pulls (different locations, same model dyno).

Please give us some more info on this. First off comparing two different dynos is not a valid comparison. Same model dyno will read differently, just like each of our motors is likely to have slightly different output. What were the ambient conditions of each? External fans? Hood open or closed? There could be a lot of other variables that account for the large jump you saw.

And the same tune works on any of the available engines! That's value

Used to be said you would need 30hp to have an appreciable performance change, I'm sure 5/10/15hp is there but you can't feel it, that's the placebo, and then you need a pricey dyno to measure it.

Worst $350 I think I've spent in the last decade. The thing is worth no more than $100 on it's best day.

Wait a minute...why does the Lexus chip give you 20 more HP than the Mustang one AND cost $17 less? Now I'm not sure I want it.:lol:

Notice the seller does not offer returns. Shocking!
