I recommend it. Too many things coming up from Ford in 2016... I'm sure they'd be upgrading stuff in the Mustang. For example, they changed the taillights in SN-95 after the first or second model year.

Also.. maybe a new Bronco???

I wanted a 50th Anniversary car. Got the little aluminum plaque in my dash that says "Mustang 50 Years Edition." I'm good with that. Obviously I'd like the 10 speed automatic, but I'll deal.

No s550 yet :(
2017 wishes for the mustang.....moar aluminum and horsepower and 10 speed tranny for starts.
U read my mind!

Its working out for me. Im still saving enough money for a Huge downpayment and also for ALOT of mods. So I have nothing but time. And I have been thinking of holding off until the 2016s come just incase there were new colors or the PP can come with Automatic tranny. Maybe my wait will be fruitful.

Just read the article...Ecoboost? Really? No 6.2L, not even as an option....they can keep it.

I'd suspect they'll have the 10 speed in the Raptor for a year or so before the Mustang to work out any kinks. The Raptors are much, much lower volume and would be easier to manage if there are issues to work out after release.

I'm sure they've tested this transmission already for a while in probably a Mustang also. the auto market is getting competitive and Ford needs to keep the momentum it got over the Camaro.

'16 MY cannot just be SYNC and a few new colors. Something else needs to happen and them showing up the 8 speed transmission coming in the Camaro is the best way to do it.

I've read the 5.0 V8 is optional.

Also the Raptor doesn't go on sale until Fall 2016 so the earliest we could hope for the 10-speed auto to come to the Mustang would be the 2017MY.

Here's the article on the transmission. They feel mid 2016. We'll see. I'm hoping late 2015.

The rumor has it the first prototypes were installed in test vehicles late last year, and the controller software development is in full swing right now. Unless the software team is working extra fast, 2015 CY is unlikely. Likewise for the production tooling, I doubt that it is possible to tool up this transmission within 18 months of first vehicles level prototypes. While it is possible that this transmission shows up for 2016 model year in late 2015, it seems more likely that it actually does not show up till the middle of 2016 for 2017 model year vehicles.

Right now I'm so thankful I can't afford a Mustang right now, just think of all the mechanical and performance goodies it could get in the next two years!! :D
