BmacIL says that the new GT500 will be a little “expensier”, so...I think that what Farruko says it does makes sense.

Let’s image something like this:
Mustang GT 460HP
Mustang Bullitt 485HP (I dont think it will have the same specs than the regular GT, maybe it will have and upgraded non-DI 5.0 like the PowerPacks that Ford offers and if I’m not mistaken it does have around 485HP)
Mustang GT350 526HP (In case it doesn’t receive an upgrade)
Mustang GT500 710-730HP (according to the power to weight that Farruko claims)

On paper that looks like a good lineup with a little something for everyone. If the 350 continues I’d like to see the HP increase to the 550-575 range. While it is a dedicated track machine getting the 0-60 under 4 would be great for those who want a little more streetabilty but don’t have $85-$90k to spend. The uniqueness of a NA FPC with that kind of perfromance would be tough to ignore.

I foresee the 10 speed automatic going to the GT350 if they continue it with a facelift in 2019.

Why don't you see the GT500 at 80 to 90 thou ? Four years ago my 2014 GT500 was 67 thou. Four years inflation at 3 to 4 thou per year would put 2019 GT500 at 80 plus thou.
How are you calculating inflation?

I don’t think it will break 90. My R was 68k. One grand more than your GT500. You can’t just apply straight inflation (your calculation is way off if you’re talking about dollar inflation anyway). Technology gets cheaper over time, and the more tech you can apply the better off you are in being able to reduce significant cost. Economies of scale change, etc etc

Look at the Demon. What’s the sticker, 86k? And look at all the other stuff you get with it. Extra wheels, track box filled with stuff, delivered by an actual high end car carrier versus regular old rail or transport, etc...

End of day I think it will be mid 70s to low 80s. I don’t think it will break 90.

Edit: I will add after thinking more about what you’re saying. You’re probably not talking about dollar inflation. It’s very likely that this car will have more than $10-$15k in improvements over the last GT500, but I’ll still argue other costs will have been reduced, so the true number is probably somewhere in between.

Either way we are all hoping for the same thing. Another Ford Mustang that can punch way above it’s class

That seems like a nice straightforward line up, if it plays out that way.

I don’t think I want the 10 speed in our cars. Not saying I wouldn’t consider an auto, just saying there’s probably a better match out there for the voodoo.

It would actually work well in the 350. The only benefit the dct would have is slightly faster shifts and launch control.

Just don’t see the need for 10 gears in this car, what benefit does that give me? And yes, I would definitely want a DCT. Why not? :D

Ford Performance also said that there was going to be only 500 Ford GT units within 2 years of production (2017 and 2018) now they added two additional model years (2019 and 2020) and 500 more units. So..... :ford:
From the very beginning Ford proposed a 4 year run for the Ford GT so not sure where you are getting that they now are just adding 2 additional model years for the Ford GT?

As far as the GT350/GT350R continuing on past the 2018MY, are you suggesting that Ford will continue with the same model design for a 5th or 6th model year or are you suggesting that Ford will come up with a completely new unique body design for a 2019 GT350/R along with continuing production of the FPC engine for these cars?

Why not? Look at the S197 GT500. Introduced in 2007. New body design in '10 plus a bit more HP. New engine in '11. New design in '13 plus a new engine.

Again, I know I'm going against the grain, but I wouldn't be surprised to see the GT350 last throughout S550 production.

Ford execs have always stated that they want the 350 to be a complete "drivers car" not necessarily a record setter or benchmark for numbers.

I wonder why they didn't go with the 7.0 big block in the Bullitt. I thought the originals were 390's ? I wouldn't own or buy one but a 7.0 N/A making 525-550HP would be kinda cool in a throwback way.
