The most ridiculous part of this is that he had a bid at over $100K and didn't take it. Whether that bidder was real or not is another story though since that "bidder" could buy a brand new one for cheaper than that right now.
The absolute "my car youtube channel has jumped the shark" video is when someone takes a brand new car to Carmax for an appraisal. I can't think of anything more ridiculous (well, I'm sure there is). I just don't know who cares to watch content like that? But it's a clear indicator of...
Exactly. The guy is a click-bait whore and this makes good youtube. I bet that the bidders don't verify and it goes back down to below the minimum bid or near it.
Let's get realistic here- anyone who has $100K to drop on a GT500 isn't going to buy a used one for less money just because of a...
I saw an R for sale a few years ago at a dealer (not Ford) and it had replica wheels on it.. I suspect the dealership did not know to confirm the CF wheels were there when they priced it/ took it in on trade. No way I'd write the check w/o knowing they were there for sure.
The time is right. Probably should have discontinued it last year.
Either way, the R remains a special car to me and will be around a very, very long time.
Love the heritage editions. My decision when buying for both my GT350 and my GT350R were white/blue stripes or blue/white stripes were solely because I identify these colors the most with the traditional Shelby cars. Wouldn't have it any other way personally. I respect those that don't care...
I love Youtube and follow a bunch of GT350 and GT350R owners, and you know what? Just about EVERY SINGLE ONE of the people I follow have blown their motor! I really had to stop and think about this because I actually can't think of one that I follow/followed that didn't blow a motor!
I...
Key is to find someone who actually bought a radio-delete car for racing and using it "for what it was intended to be used for".. you know, because they are saving 60lbs (or whatever) :) Certainly they'd want to pull off that cover to save another 10 ounces and really gain some performance...
I know a few people that just can't keep a car for more than a few years, they always have to have the latest and greatest and/or they get bored easy... doesn't matter what they own. The GT350/R is one of these "gotta own it then gotta move it" type cars. :)
Sounds like the curb rash doesn't bother you, and to me that's the biggest thing that would potentially bother me. Having a good deal right in front of you where you can just hand your keys of your used car and drive away with the R certainly makes things even more tempting, I know it would be...
I would say that the statement "there are a ton of these (buy backs) out there" is a big time exaggeration. We are seeing SOME of them, but as a former Z06 owner, no more than you'd see with a lot of other major brands IMO.
Everyone's experience is different with cars like these, for some it's a passion, or they always wanted a Shelby. For some it was wanting the latest and greatest and they loved the fact that it was hard to get. Then when they became more common (relatively speaking, ie, the markups were gone)...
Exactly how I feel. I never thought I'd own another mustang when I sold my last one in 2006.. Since then I've owned BMW M's, Porsches, and Corvettes. Mustangs just weren't sports cars to me and I stopped even looking at them. BUT then- I test drove a friends R and it blew my mind to the point...
You do realize that most paid that or more for an R with the ADM's that were out there for the 2016-2018 R's, right? Heck, I even know of several sales where people paid $10K ADM's (in 2016) for a GT350, putting them in the $70K range. SO I don't think the $74K is that out of line, all things...
I had contemplated ordering a 2019 R mainly for the Painted stripes and figured the other upgrades would be great (interior, stereo), but now that painted stripes is gone I'm sticking with my 2018 R for the long run.
I can't wait to see the upgraded interior though, I've always thought this...
