Oh I'm getting raped by insurance here in metro Detroit, it's 400 a month. Clean record, good neighborhood too. Frustrating. These cars cant be that costly to repair can they? I'm sure there's many other factors, there must be.
People don't believe me when I tell them the lowest quote I got for a GT was about $430 a month.. Lol.

I'm paying $1,624 every 6 months for my EBM.. F u Insurance.

13ish years, clean record, no accidents, 1 ticket this year which was dismissed in court no points, no charges.. otherwise completely clean, good credit, decent income, no debt (other than the car loan but I have positive equity in my car due to a large down payment and paying extra per month), rent an apartment and still getting fisted anally.

My insurance WITH Geico dropped by more than half when I moved from Roosevelt (Nassau County), NY to Florida. Right now I'm paying $1,161 a year for my Mustang and an Acura MDX, both with full coverage.

Damn, must be the area as mine is $90 a month for the Mustang with 3 cars on the policy.

FWIW,
50 years old, married, no accidents or tickets. Live in NYC.
Geico, linked to my homeowner policy. $1650 per year.
Cheapest I could find.

And I agree, the " sharing of information" seems quite Orwellian.

I have learned to shop around constantly. I'm 23 and have full coverage on the stang (no tickets and no accidents) and just switched to GEICO. Pay $90 a month now which switched from $145 with State Farm.

I broke a windshield while moving to IN about 2 years ago ... a typical comp claim that would not count against insurance. Come to find out, the Mustang windshield is over $800 and I got dinged for it. My rate went up $240/yr just for that and I've never had an accident or ticket.

I think insurance companies use a formula based on a number of factors, credit score, demographics, crime rate, mileage driven, where its parked both at home and work, etc.

ha! yeah, the stock windshield is crazy expensive. I got an off brand for $250 installed. No logo or sound proofing but it's held up for six months ok. No leaks at least.

I'm paying $475 / 6 months for full coverage. I feel that this is high! This is a cheap car, I pay $400 for my rubi which cost twice as more as the mustang.

The insurance company said this car has a high accident rate, with large claims. Probably because it doesn't take much to total it.

Man I'm at 100 a month and complain. It did just go up for some reason but just barely

I'm more annoyed at my homeowners constantly going up. It's not drastic dollars wise but percentage wise it pisses me off.

I've told usaa that when my accident drops off next year I'm leaving them (everything's bundled)

Anyone have any Amica experience?

Geico is the way to go. Way cheaper than most.

I guess I must be lucky. I'm paying $400 every 6 months with progressive.

I'm 38 with no tickets and pay about $65 per month and it isn't for basic coverage.

Some States are weird. In California I paid $280/mth for minimum (lot of uninsured illegals & criminals, several friends had car's jacked in mall parking lot, one was stabbed in the process). Texas suburbs, full coverage 1 million personal injury but no rental coverage & 2,000 deductible, $<80 (76 or 78?). Moved further away from the city dropped to $65 then $55 after moving my car & home insurance to the same company, 3 car/truck & boat (doesn't cover if i sink it, only if it comes unhitched and hits someone).

One thing I noticed. Rental coverage was almost $10/mth but moving from minimum ~50k to 1 million personal injury was about 75 cents. I figure nobody will sue me for walking after a crash, but they'll sue me if I break their neck & don't pay medical bills. Oh and I don't have extra $5/mth personal items coverage. It's 5 bucks to insure 10k of belonging you leave in the car. I can't imagine leaving 10k worth of junk in my backseat while grocery shopping. Those two things are ~20% increase alone.
