I have a Skoda Octavia RS wagon as a work car and all the safety features shit me to tears. When in traffic the perimeter alerts continually go off which turns the radio down and beeps. I have had the car emergency brake on me twice, once with a foil backed chip packet rolling along in front of me in slow traffic. The car stopped dead and the woman behind nearly ran up my arse. The other time I had no car behind me and I have no idea why it panicked. I turn it off in slow traffic now so it doesn't cause an accident. The only thing it is good for really is making your insurance cheaper I am not happy with the technology thats for sure.

I won't ever have a passenger in the rear of my Mustang anyway it is just a large luggage compartment in my books.

So NHTSA is 5 star and ANCAP gets 2 what a lot of rubbish. One world wide standard is needed !!!

And they don't test Porsche's and others because they are too expensive. Not a fair comparison.

My first car was a Mk1 Ford Escort, no airbags, no lane assist just lots of steel. My new Mustang has lots of safety gear designed and thought out by people who are not paid to be morons. Yep much better than my Mk1 Escort. Yeah I know this is not good press for us owners, but I reckon I am safer than many on the road at present.

The other thing that looks bad for Ford is that in the US these cars HAVE Blind spot warning systems and adaptive Cruise control.... but not here in Oz, though I believe even the Ford Ranger has these features. As others have said, it wont affect my purchase decision but it really does look like Ford could be doing better for their Australian customers

Yep so move the goal posts and wonder why the results have changed.

I would like to see just how many 5 star vehicles rate under the new testing scheme, I don't they will achieve much better
Hey Copie, I'm trying to find your post where you apologise for calling me a troll, but I can't seem to locate it. Where is it?

From an interview with motoring.com.au. Ford Australia rep. First confirmation of any 2018 features for Aus mustangs.

GĂĽnsberg: AEB and Lane Keeping Aid will be standard on the freshened 2018 Mustang available in Australia from mid-2018.

 all I wanted was Line-lock

Ill just grab the popcorn, and watch a flawed scale test get eaten up by miss-informed media/public.

I might be weird, but I tend to look out the windows when im driving, and I have confidence in my ability to operate the accelerator, break and steering wheel (and other features ). I dont think the fact that a vehicle wont do these things for me makes it unsafe.

But for now, heres to the 'experts' !
If its in print, it must be fair and accurate!

They wrecked at least 4 GTs. Could have just as well wrecked 4 EcoBoosts and saved those GTs from destruction.

I have been cursing them for exactly that since day one. If one thing it amuses me that this came back to bite them in the ass after all.
