I’m curious about this for longevity. Any warnings about running this blower in the cold? Paxton / Vortech are not supposed to be started or run in cold temps as the impeller can rub the volute causing damage. Pro charger are completely fine with no risk of anything. Hell they have models that they use to de-ice planes with. Paxton/ Vortech have had issues in the past with oil slingers breaking and causing the bearings to over heat and subsequent impeller damage. Pro charger have not had issues with this.

Just trying to get feel for this blower. Someone posted they’ve been around awhile with BMWs etc so wondering if these things have occurred as well or if they pretty much bullet proof...

Numbers posted for a few of you guys are great!

Is the blower itself very loud?

Thank you. If you wouldn't mind send me updates every month or so on what you think, drivability on the street normal driving and on the street WOT. I will make my decision and buy a KIT right around October ish unless I decide to go the NA Route. I just get myself into another head ache of a car which needs special attention all of the time to maintain the drivability. Thank You.
Drivability will be a tuning thing. As long as the hard parts hold up the drivability will come from the tune and how it’s dialed in.

I live in a hot climate so I wouldn't be able to comment on that. The blowers they do for the euro market are positive displacement blowers. The g series units are new but they claim they are built with better stuff than any other centri manufacturer. Specifically the bearings they told me were way over engineered and last way way longer than the ones found in other blowers.

I have a straight cut gear head unit. It makes a nice whine. Clearly audible but not loud id say. The normal head unit is very quite.

ESS has been in the supercharger game for a long, long time. Everything from Ford Mustang to Lamborghini Huracan.

With how many units they've sold, a quick Google search can show you they don't fail. I just did a search for "ESS supercharger failure" and got two hits from the same person on the entire first page of Google from 2011. He had a failure with a Vortech unit back when that's what they used.

His post states, "Issue solved, this was a defective vortech unit from manufacture or maybe damage done by my tuner :-) Thankyou ESS for sorting my problem quickly and promptly, my warranty covered my issue :-) i apologise if my original thread caused concern or gave off the wrong impression."

Going back through my old convos with ESS, I found discussion on the capabilities of the G units. "They have no temperature restrictions and a calculated service life of 10.000H. They use the highest quality SKF ceramic bearings available (75k speed rating), all billet ultra high precision gearcase, and 1040 slingers rated for 96.000 RPM burst speed."

Good to know.

Do they actually manufacture the blowers or are they someone else’s? I see they use Whipple in a few of their kits, Eaton in some and if they’ve used Vortechs in the past, I’m led to believe they don’t actually manufacture the blowers but use a known product. If they don’t make them, who does? I could be wrong, but ESS is an automotive shop, not a manufacturer though. Maybe both.

The specs sound great though!

The G series headunits are their own design and product. While they have used other brands of superchargers in the past and currently use Whipple with certain kits, they’re absolutely a manufacturer and not just a shop.

What kit did you buy, looks like the G3 by the inter cooler, are you doing a fuel system also or no. If you answered these questions before my apologies.

I bought the G2 with the upgraded intercooler. I got the NGK 6510’s and 47 pound Ford injectors. Since it’s a 16 injector car those are plenty. Just change the top 8

Same setup here. I run e54. I was just in nc and saw some cheap e85 at sheetz (could be less than e85). What fuel are you going to run?
