Hi guys
The car started & acted fine this morning. Sync was fine.

HizliBullet:
The car was running the whole time. I didn't turn it off until it said all was done.

I made the change and my car did not crash. Maybe I did it wrong.

j/k

I know you mean it kills 911 call after a crash. But am REALLY interested in how you found that out.

The 911 assist icon is missing from the Bluetooth info on the home screen and it is removed from the settings menu.

That's a very good point and I agree with you. However, for me 911 assist is not a big deal because:
  • After the crash if I can talk then I can always say "ok google call 911"
  • If I am not able to talk then 911 assist will NOT automatically provide the location of my car to the operator and there is no automatic way for them to know the location of the cell phone in the U.S. In the worst case they will probably send help to my house address.

Supposedly the car is able to automatically provide the location if you can't talk. It is also able to provide details about the severity of the crash like deceleration rate and what airbags deployed. I sincerely hope I never find out how this feature works first hand.

Non Nav 3.0 update worked fine on my 16 Mustang. Didn't work on my 16 Escape. Wierd. Both were orginal 1.0 and updated to 2.2 just fine.

Sync 3 v3 finally allows for receiving text messages and allowing nav entry while the vehicle is in motion. Change as-built to:
7D0-02-01 x7xx xxxx xxxx

This will not work or prior versions of Sync 3
Does that remove all speed limited functionality? Wondering specifically about regular access to music (vs. switching over to limited access).

For those of us that did the leaked v2.2 back in december, ford renamed them internally to 2.3. The official 2.3 update is available for download so use different vin if you like the changes.

What's included in this update?
HN1T-14G381-SA SYNC3 v2.3
This software release is the latest update in our continued efforts to improve system performance, device connectivity, and the overall SYNC experience.

This software contains the following enhancements:

Updated voice recognition engine.
Navigation user interface improvements (if equipped).
Android Auto™ for supported devices.
Apple CarPlay™ for supported devices. Owners of 2016 models with SYNC 3 are required to perform a software update and purchase a hardware upgrade through your dealer.

this mean ford owners will get this same file in a week or so.

2.3 official has been out for a while, I downloaded from the owner web site and installed it back in May.

That's so weird.
My owner.ford.com site now says v2.3 where it used to say v2.2
I'll have to go see what my car says on my lunch break.
