Only with PP2. Notice that the part that caused the vacuum leak is part of PP2. Now both my short and long fuel trims are close to 0 at all RPMs and I get no pinging whatsoever.

Yep, I had pinging at low RPM due to a vacuum leak on the hose that attaches at 90º to the intake piping past the sensor. Some plastic weld fixed the issue. Easiest way to tell that you have a vacuum leak is to look at live OBD2 data for short term fuel trim on both banks using an OBD2 scanner...

See page 3 of the instructions booklet. It plugs the hole left by the sound tube in your firewall. The filter housing gets its air from the front of the car via the slot and the small hole on the bottom is the drain hole for water entering it.

+1 on using it for over 3 years with no issues. Never had a problem with NLS. YMMV

No, hex is just a convenient representation of the binary system used by Ford. You are editing binary flags, not hex flags.

Gotcha. Glad it wasn't you. :) Just be careful when changing codes - change only the bits you're suppose to change.

It comes down to the fact that there are only 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who understand binary numbers and those who don't. :) You are changing global flags by turning bits on/off. Those flags control various functions. Instead of changing a single flag you changed 4 of them...

C = 1100 E = 1110 1 = 0001 3 = 0011 You should have changed your 1 to a 3 instead of E. You should have only set 1 bit, but instead you have changed all 4. Don't know if it's good or bad, but why risk it?

lower case x's mean don't touch/change that value and upper case mean change it
