Im going to give the R888R's a shot.
Let us know how the R888s do. I did look into those and was worried about the straight line traction. I hate to switch brands now because I have the 555s on the front and wouldn't dare run 2 different brands for DD.

My 555Rs aren't going to last much longer. I've had them on for 6k miles and they are almost done. That includes a few dozen track passes with decent burnouts. Now that I have dedicated track tires, I think the 555Rs would easily last 10k for those that might be wondering.

BBwheelsonline has the best price on them hands down with free shipping. They are under 300 right now if you add them to your cart and wait a day they send you a coupon. Just looked at my receipt from when I got them and they were $570 shipped. They have coupons etc... all over the web. Big fan, I buy all my tires from them, no one touches their pricing.

Thought i would share this to save even more MONEY!!!!
american muscle has these tires listed for $298.66 each
if you use the forum discount they come out to $561.48 !!! happy trails lol

So I just drove to OC and back from the Pittsburgh area on the 305/35/20 Nitto 555Rs and they are everything I had hoped and remembered.

1. They did just as well as the NT05Rs in 2nd gear and gripped on WOT stabs just fine.
2. They did not sway at all over 120mph like my NT05Rs did. Those things felt like they were floating half the time over 100mph.
3. I'm fairly certain they will last longer in my experience. These NT05Rs look like hell after 2k miles of zero track driving.
4. I hit rain on the way home and was able to drive just like everyone else on the road with no issues. When I drove in rain on my NT05Rs on my Cobra a few years ago I thought I was going to die every 10 secs driving 45 in a 70mph.

I'm running the AM replica PP wheel in 20X10 on the rear with the factory 19s up front and it looks great. Really good cheaper option.

The MT SS will last you considerably less than the 05R's.

People that I've seen seem to like the MT's.

The MT's are the best street tire out there for traction...period. Not much of a tire for driving (back end floats) but if hooking is what you need these will do it.

Some have asked. 20" replica in rear with 19" factory front. Sorry for the dark photo, I'll try and get a better one.

No FI Stang is going to get traction in first at WOT unless it's a prepped surface or MAYBE an auto with loooong gears. I've been very impressed with the 555Rs. They spin at the beginning of 2nd but hookup after that and I make 750/575 at the wheels. They drive much better than I expected in the rain. Even half throttle in the rain will hook up fine. I will be going to the 05Rs when these are done. I've even pulled 1.59 60s at the track with them. They also handle curves just fine.

My auto with 3.15 gears spins 305 555R's all the way thru 1st 9n the street if I dont ease into WOT. If i start to roll a bit and then mash it, they hook ok at times. Mash it from the start equals no traction...
