I agree I would want a locking fuel cap long before I would want hood struts for the car. :lame:

Zombie how does it work? I see that it has two filler caps for fuel nozzle, I'm asking about the fuel door if locks or not?
Video...

Video notes. I tested it with the key fob out of range as well, no change. Looks like it doesn't lock, nor do the internal caps (there is one inside further, see attached image.) Apologies for the video lighting, I don't have ceiling lights on that side. and its dark outside :)

Thanks for the video. :(

Yeah, the internal flap on the filler tube is the one that really seals the tank and is why they provide (they did provide it, right?) you with a funnel for use with gas cans if you run out of gas.

So I wonder if you could make a warranty claim for an engine change since it doesn't lock. Because if someone puts shit in your gas tank which caused an engine failure, it would be technically be their (Ford) fault for not creating a deterrent such as a locking door. You could say it's negligence in design. Only real issue with this is some idiots would do this on purpose on their 59,990 mile mark and there's no way to prove you didn't do it yourself. Therefor no liability on the manufacturer.

Still it's very dumb for a manufacturer not to offer a locking gas filler door on a modern vehicle in 2014.

More pics of the cap and the "hole". Nothing that looks like a hook.

Oh, and one more thing. Funnel? :)

the 2012-14s have the same type of fuel door and capless filler. You push the fuel door and it pops open, that's it. There is a special funnel to fill the tank under the trunk mat where the spare tire is when you need to use a gas can. Can't get anything else is there unless you use the funnel

Just a thought? Do you think Enhanced Security Package has the locking fuel door?

If I recall there is a button on the dash to open door. My 2014 Grand Cherokee has the capless fuel filler and the door latches and locks, I would be shocked if the mustang didn't do the same.

No, I have that package.

Unless there are some sort of black magic steps I'm missing :-)
