Two months ago, the car went 10.60 @ 135 with 1.61 60'
This was stock shocks, stock converter and M/T ET Street II 295/45/17 @ 16.5 PSI in the tires.
Last week I put in a circle D 3200 converter, Viking Shocks and MT "R" 305/45/17 tires. I also swapped from a 4.0" pulley to a 3.5" pulley. This should be somewhere around 17-18psi.
First pass, off idle, smashed the throttle, tires shook, spun, car went 3.03 60' at 141 MPH.
Second pass, off idle, smashed the throttle, no tire shake, spun, car went 3.43 60' at 11.0 @ 142 MPH.
Third pass, foot braked to 2000 RPM, car spun, no tire shake. 1.56 60' 10.20 @ 139.97 MPH
First two passes were with 16.5 PSI of air in the tires. Third pass was 16 PSI. Burnout was just till they started to smoke.
Vikings are a 6/8 C/R (rears only).
Car has full tank of E-85. Full interior (Base GT). Spare tire. BMR jacking rails. I'm 355lb. Safe to assume car weighs 4200+. Car is on 17x10 & 17x5 Weld S77b wheels.
Talked to Ken B, he says car even on the 3rd pass, spun clear through 2nd gear.
Hard to say the track was crap, it was being prepped. Small tire cars were pulling the tires, but there were also small tire cars blowing the tires off at the hit, so hit or miss.
Anyone have any recommendations on how to make the car stick? It should go 1.4x 60' and should go 9.xx @ high 130's, low 140's.
FWIW, car does have:
BMR Cradle Lockout CB005
BMR Vertical Links TCA045
BMR Bearings BK055
I don't want to gut the car. Do I lower tire pressure? Raise/Lower launch RPM? Adjust vikings?
I may try and run out of town next weekend and make one last pass, but it'd be 1200 miles round trip...so hell of a long ways to drive to not get a 9...If I do go, I want to go with a plan.
Thanks!
