Just can't get enuff!
Btw MCarsFan there are some recent posts in the "still looking for GT350" thread where some east coast dealers have new ones for sale at 5k adm's and even negotiable at that.... although they sell quickly if the markups are low or none at all.

Sorry... just trying to make you think 2x :headbonk: :D

I'm sure he's aware of that..... and maybe this one too! ;) :D

Look like the same Corvette on both pictures that got beat by the GT350R. LOL

It's also their same media press car that was a DNF in Motor Trend's best driver's competition in MRLSl.... ill-preparation was the issue. :eyebulge:

Techincally the R won the contest by votes... but not the performance metrics and lap times, etc. ;)

Don't worry... I'd likely take an R over my Z06 although I wouldn't pay Z06 price for an R. But if the markups weren't nuts for an R, I'd probably have both in my garage anyway.

If I could get the R for a reasonable price in a reasonable time frame, as I said twice already, I wouldnt be making this thread. But the fact of the matter is all Rs go for a lot more than a fully loaded Z06. At the end of the day a Ford is a Ford and Chevy is a Chevy. Neither is Porsche. Neither will keep their value like a 997 GT3RS does after 10 years. In 2 years they will be everywhere.

A base gt350 traps 117mph. I understand its a car that sounds amazing but thats about it. Its far from being fast, my stock M5 traps 122 and with comp package it handles amazing. 5 mph trap is a lot of pull, a lot of power. Obviously 350 will handle better but in street driving, its going to feel a lot slower.

I am not saying a lot of this to bash 350. I am okay with the less powerful car because it sounds good and its just a toy, the point I am trying to make is that car is marketed as cheap, fun car, that sounds great. It is not a car in my opinion to wait 5-6 months for and pay $70,000.

Z28 or Z06.......same boring 1955 design pushrod style engine. No comparison to FPC 4cam/32v 8250 RPM 100hp per litre engine that is in the GT350.

Correct, but then Porsche has been using the same flat six for how long? Or BMW uses the same inline six again for how long?

I am not questioning how great this engine is, if I could walk in to a dealership and get one in the next few months for sticker, I would do it. But the cheapest I found was sticker plus 10k and that had a waiting list of 20 people. Same thing happened when Z06 came out, not to this degree but people were paying 5k over for some time. Now after 2+ years, they are selling for 9% off.

Ford is great just not 10k ADM great. No car is. The price manufacturer determines is the true max value any car is worth. Simple as that. Anything beyond that is "I have to have my toy" obsession, nothing more.

I got my GT350 with no ADM & a free car cover. Plus I still got a one off FPC, 8250 rpm engine that you can only get in a Shelby GT350. You won't see that engine in pickup trucks suv, motorhomes, vans ect................. as per GM or Fiat vehicles.

You sound ridiculous boasting about how amazing the Voodoo motor is and how it's only used in one chassis. Who cares. Just because GM still uses push rods and their engines across multiple platforms, doesn't make it any less of a motor.

OHCs have been around for decades too.

It sounds like going by your logic, we should all be mad at all the manufacturers for still using pistons and crankshafts.

I agree.

Porsche uses the same flat 6 in their 80k car and their 200k car and also their 175k car that people pay sticker plus 100k for it AND in their new 991R that is selling for almost half a million after ADM. As you can see just because a motor is used elsewhere does not make it less of a motor.

Also 100hp per liter is yesterday's news. BMW accomplished this almost a decade ago with their S65 motor that was 4.0 liter and made 420hp and redline was at 8400, higher than vodoo. By chuck's logic, maybe I should get that M3 for 30k, put a supercharger on it for 15k and add some suspension and brake work for another 10k, remove weight, remove backseats, add recaros for another 10k and i will have a 3300 lbs naturally aspirated 650hp high revving completely bespoke engine.

Wow... just got back from test driving a Huracan LP580-2 and I see all these rebuttals! Chucky... chill pal. The common denominator here is we all like the GT350 even it ends up as the only thing we have in common. Don't turn this thread into a bash fest. It's good we all have choices, you know...

And if MCarsFan and I ever encounter you on or off the track, don't worry we'll give you a point-by... :D
