Sarah didn't really need a wash but it was a nice day except for the damn wind, and much to my surprise, I actually found some motivation to do something and with nothing better to do, I decided cleaning her was the perfect solution. This one will be mostly "pitchers". <grin>
Didn't do the engine bay, that will be on the next wash after reading the great posts today and I think I have the products I need to duit.
So, as usual, wheels and tires first with Brake Buster.
Then I used the rest of the BB on the mats and gave 'em a good scrup in anticipation of using Perl on them. But when I went for the bottle, I saw the brand new bottles of Meg's RTU Hyper Dressing and decided to try that.
Rinsed, hung to dry, and then gave them a coat of the Meg's. The result was better than I expected from Perl and only a tiny bit if slipperieness after. I like it better than Wolfgang's, too so this is my new goto mat topper.
Then I got busy with the wash and foamed with Reset. Like so many of you, I just love that stuff and it does a super job.
Let her dwell for about ten minutes and then rinsed.
As you can see, the paint still beads and sheets very well despite the fact that the CQuartz coating is over three years old and the paint has only seen, Bead Maker, Reload, and most recently, Amplify since.
I do hope to find the time and motivation to polish the car again while it's still moderately cool outside and unless someone convinces me to go elsewhere, I plan to use Cquartz again after polishing with Sonax Perfect Finish and a white or yellow pad.
BTW, since we were on the mit/pad subject in the past couple of days, here's a shot of my favorite wash pad from OG.
When I finished, I ran the car up and back in the driveway excercising the brakes to warm 'em and get the water off the rotars and pads so they don't weld themselves together. Been there, done that. Used the Metrovac Max Blaster to give her a blow dry, no towels AT all.
Next was the door jams, deck, and engine bay wipe down, all with Amplify. After that I gave the whole car some Amplify love then used those towels to put a coat on the wheels.
Finally, I got out the OG Tire Dressing and my favorite little CarPro "makeup brush" dressing brush and did the tires. That thing is THE perfect brush for 30 series tires and I love it to the max.. thanks again, D.
It was getting late and the light was fading but I managed to get a few After shots.
