Which relates to this conversation in what way? Was it modded?
Sure was, upgraded turbo charger, intercooler,Ron Anderson ported headed and intake, tuned by Ken Duttweiler with email order chip, stock cam, factory untouched short block with cast pistons. My Buick ran 11.61 117MPH at the 1987 Buick Nationals in Bowling Green,Kentucky and drove the car from Natchez,MS.
I now have a 2017 Ford Mustang Gt with a Whipple Stage 2 auto that I installed myself along with the Whipple Tune. The car runs perfect with 92 octane and Torco just to be safe.

They couldn’t tune a turnkey 570whp car. How do they tune an 850whp car? Lol

And 850whp has been done here repeatedly with stock motor with OPGs.

Understand that I am glad your tuning was good and you never picked up a bad tank of gas. The gas part has burned many many people over the years.

If a tune is done properly and you dont goof up and put 87 octane in your tank, things will be fine. An improperly tuned car or one tuned on the ragged edge of safety is another story.

These cars can pull a shit load of timing. That said I have my Ngauge set up to monitor KR values. When a positive number is seen all the red lines come on.

My wife drives the car more than I do. Once I left the 100 octane tune in the car, she put 93 in. She started seeing red lights. Called me up, we loaded the 93 tune and she was good to go!

Does anyone really expect ANY aftermarket tuner/builder to have the resources of a manufacturer to ensure their motor will live regardless of how a customer will treat their product? Yet even with those resources we have low speed detonation on eco and 2018 5.0 rattle issues.

If you get bad gas, the nannies will not save your ass when the motor is leaned on as hard as 675 HP.

There is nothing wrong with making big power, just be realistic that when you do, you may have do deal with shit as a result. It does suck when your number gets called, don't get me wrong.
I hear ya, but I think this situation is alittle different...

Livernois installed everything and the car had issues from the jump...re-read the OP description of what happened in his first post. This wasnt a perfectly running car after the install and he just got a bad tank of gas! Issues right from the start! And if there was bad gas in the car when it was dropped off for the install then Livernois should have been able to indentify the issue through dyno time/data logs to see what the heck was going on. They handed the car back to him and it wasnt running right.

Good chance they just installed everything and put their "tried & true canned tune" in there that was created based on their "vast experience doing the same combo" and didnt check anything.

This seems like the real truth in my opinion. LMS should do a new motor, tune and dyno on their dime. Maybe charge for the block or whatever parts are an upgrade from a stock car.

How do I do this? Free to PM me, I’ve been wondering about something like this based on Lambda or timing for a while.

Even back in 1987 Buick had a factory knock sensor that was installed in the rear of the block that worked pretty good. Most of the time the spark plugs will occur damage before you destroy a piston.Just Saying!

I'm just shocked that they still haven't made an appearance in this thread. This alone would make me never want to do business with them.

Good luck OP

Hopefully they don't fuck you over twice

I looked at buying a new long block from Levittown Ford. Delivered for 5700 and having that installed. Then, as my salesman said, I could sell the heads and with their discount save a significant amount. But, I have kind of cooled on the Bullitt and like the Guard green and have decided to keep it a while after I get it back. Plus, this way LMS really is responsible for the whole project.
Maybe I'm too naive, but I have to go with my gut on this.
I have not written LMS off as of yet and they are very aware a lot of folks are viewing this thread. Perhaps, and hopefully, I will give a great review. But if the car is not up to snuff, I will reveal that, too.
I really don't know what Livernois could really add to this thread without having it taken the wrong way.
We will see.
Every comment made is helpful to others viewing this thread I would think...

1 more time. Shortblock is like 2000 bucks with the core. Their 2400 credit covers that and billet OPGs. You pay install. You pay 1500 or so out pocket. We’re all trying to save you money and not give Livernois what they want....which is you spending more money at their shop.

I would think simply acknowledging it and stating they are trying to figure out exactly what happened and working with you towards a suitable solution would be the way to go. Ignoring this thread, or choosing to not post anything is not the right way to handle it IMO.

Good luck man, I hope things work out for you.

So u asked a company to double the hp of a stock motor, something failed and now y’all say the company should pay to fix it? Did u pay for a warranty? Factory motors on factory tune fail all the time. IMO is the risk u take if u want racecar. They don’t owe anyone an explanation about this on a public forum imo especially when we don’t even know what failed
Herein is the quandary: a lot of people have zero issues pushing sealed blocks to 600-700+ wheel, and some people have longblocks replaced under warranty with just a drop-in filter on their mod list. You wanna play? Gotta be willing to put a hole in your credit card
