I've been waiting for ages with no luck, so now it's time to ask ... :like:

Does anyone have a Ford Performance GT350 shift knob they would be willing to sell (and ship to the UK, at my cost, additional to what you would like for the item) ?

It's this type I am looking for :

I know that they did them in Black, Red and White - black or red would be equally prefered, although I suspect I won't be in a position to be picky with colour.

I have seen them for sale on here before and either missed out, or the sellers don't want to ship over the pond :frown:

Please let me know if you can help :like:

Cheers,

WD :like:

(Don't worry it's for a project, and not for fitting to my GT)

That’s a fair question, here are my reasons :
  • I’m in the U.K., the 350 wasn’t sold over here, no after market requirement, not available from U.K. sellers.
  • Not relevant, but even if there were U.K. sellers, the rrp on the equivalent FP engraved version is $163
  • It’s surprising, but not a lot of US traders will readily sell to the U.K., and the ones that do, generally try to price themselves out of the hassle by quoting extortionate shipping.
  • The traders that will ship to the U.K. are generally ‘above board’ with how they mark up the paperwork i.e. that means I’m also getting stung with duties and fees etc.
  • Buying second hand saves me a chunk of money on the purchase, a chunk of money on the shipping, and even if marked fairly on the documentation, zero (or minimal) fees when it lands in the U.K.
  • The part isn’t for my car, it’s for something I’m ‘up cycling’ and will undergo modification and refurbishment i.e. reasonable second hand condition is perfect, new is unnecessary (and partially wasted).
  • I actually quite like rescuing old parts and making them better than new - there is a feel good factor that shouldn’t be ignored.
  • I like little projects.
I hope that helps you understand the logic behind my request :sunglasses:

Thank you :like:

I agree, I have the Ford Performance version on my GT, bought when I was on holiday in the states so I could dodge the U.K. pricing, or the US postage and import fees.

I also came home with the FP oil separator and a Steeda H pipe :giggle:

I think I remember complementing you on how well you polished your knob.

If you don't mind me asking, what is the difference?

I just want to do a 350 version :like:

Not that it’s important, but the 350 / Tremec threads are M10 x 1.25 compared to M12 x 1.25 for the GT / MT82.

Having done a number of modified cars over the decades, I am totally sympathetic to your search. Many moons ago, I remember getting a set of 'Le Mans' clear lens covers for my '68 Triumph Spitfire. I had to source & purchase them from the UK. I have always looked at building/modifying cars as ... "my car, my money, my rules, my way!!!" Go for it!!!
