Took it on the highway, got on it pretty hard 151 in 5th. Hit the clutch hit brakes car shows a wrench sign. Tried to give it gas but it would not accelerate. Turned the car off, started back up, took a little longer then normal, Long start. Hooked up the code sct x4, scan for codes. Code p2111 popped up. Throttle Actuator A control system stuck open. What does that mean? Do i have to buy a new throttle body? Or is it something that can be adjusted in the tune? Im gonna take it to my Tuner as soon as I can but since it's a holiday weekend I'm probably fucked until Tuesday or Wednesday. Car still pulls hard as hell like it never happened. No lights on the dash. Has this happened to anyone else? Please help thanks.

Throttle body is getting stuck open or sticking shut. Could also be the electronic motor sticking from a broken gear in the TB. Take it out and move the blade open and closed, see how it feels, check too see if the blade is sticking on the walls or if it feels notchy when opening. Check your intake hoses and connections. If its sticking you could reflash back too stock tune and take too dealer and try to get them too fix it or eat the cost of a new TB and upgrade it at the same time.

Damn smh. Is it something a tune can fix?
How in the world is a tune going to fix a potentially failed part?? C'mon:frusty: Take your throttle body apart and investigate or buy a new one.

Failed throttle body. Is it the stock TB? If it is youre outta luck mate. Ford throttle bodys are a huge weak point and fail constantly. I had mine replaced under warranty at 5000 miles. I know quite a few more peope on here that have had problems recently.

It also seems like the ford throttle bodys are on a national backorder so it might take a week or 2 to get one.

If it isnt stock id just contact whoever you bought it from and get a replacememt or take it apart and try to fix it. (I dont recommend the second option)

Yeah mine TB is stock. I was looking online for a stock TB, but all I can find on Ford website is the gt350 TB. Should I buy a new stock TB or the GT350? What's the difference between the stock and gt 350? Maybe a basic question but I'm not really good with cars. Thanks

The GT350 one even with the adapter plate will not fit the stock manifold. So options would be, bbk or stock. Not sure if the ford racing 90mm would fit stock manifold. Most common failure is the TPS sensor in the TB itself failed. You could take it apart and replace it with one at auto zone but the price is that of a used TB so its not worth the hassle or even messing with.

Gt350 tb is larger than the factory tb. So you will need a tune to get a gt350 tb to work on your car.
Just make sure your tuner can tune a gt350 tb
I swapped mine out because I went with a gt350 intake manifold and wanted the tb to match.

I think I'm gonna go ahead and pay for the throttle body. Thank God it's only 100 bucks. I don't feel like talking off my cold air kit, driving to Ford with a stock tune with long tubes. I'm scared riding with a stock tune with longtubes will mess something up. Plus once they see my longtubes they're probably void my warranty anyways smh.

Rob,
If the car is running OK now you can leave it alone. Sometimes the ECU sees an intermittent fault in the position signals and trips limp mode. If it persists, change the TB.
