I'm wondering if anyone with a white convertible has wrapped or painted (black) the outside of the "A" pillars and the header across the top of the windshield?

Being completely serious...in the hardware stores they sell different colors of duct tape; you could use that to mock it up, to give you an idea of the end result, before you commit.

The spoiler looks nice BTW.

second thought, duct tape might be a bit sticky, but you get the idea. black paper. anything you can put on the car and look at it.

I find this funny as the Z3 guys (Iā€™m one) have always removed the factory black tap to the pillars and Headers. There are are factory color but covered in black and now Mustang people (Iā€™m am one) are going the opposite!

Ha! I remember removing that stuff on the Z3ā€™s- there was a bulletin where they would wrinkle and the fix was to just peel it off and not replace it. I think the later ones stopped coming with it installed at the factory.

The older you get..the more you see things go in circles and come around again.

Hello Fellow Verts

I thought about that same idea myself after seeing one on this forum that had painted the A Pillars black.

I think his was orange and it looked good. Search older vert pictures on this Convertible forum and you will find the picture.

I did paint my rear blade spoiler black and that also looks great.

Thanks

I've had numerous convertibles with black A pillars and thought about this for my car. I did a photochop... l'm thinking about getting it wrapped or painting with Plasti-dip. Here's the mock-up:

Oh, and I painted in the headlight buckets and lower vents

And since I'm posting ideas, here's on for fog lights:

Planning on finding a plain grill off ebay and mounting these Hellas...

I like balance in automotive modifications.

You have a lot of chrome and silver on the car-the result is fabulous! However, I don't see enough black to balance off the black pillars. I think you have a winner as it is!

The other verts I saw with black pillars had a blackout treatment on the wheels and other blackout items.

Just my opinion from a guy who has combined motifs from 2015 Anniversary Package, 2016 Cali Special and 2019 Cali Special into my unique expression that some may/may not like. Funny thing is...people think my car came that way from the factory.

Go with your heart, my friend...

Thanks... The mock-ups were old thoughts I never acted on. Being an old guy, I like (certain) cars with a little bit of silver or chrome. My three cars previous to this all had just the right amount for their particular style (IMO) As for the this car, I'm done, other than I really want a bullitt grille with the chrome surround, but can't bring myself to spend the $600+ ... I wish someone would make a fog light grille (but with chrome trim) like the 15-17s have available.
