JJ how big is the opening at the end of the downpipe where it connects to the y pipe? I will be doing my exhaust myself and I'm not comfortable with cutting behind the resonator. I just want to know if the ford racing catback will connect to the downpipe

No we are not, sorry.

The downpipe and y pipe are both 3 inch diameter.

If you want the off road pipe to connect to the stock resonator or any aftermarket exhaust then you just use our supplied connector that necks down our OR pipe to 2 1/4. Its shown in the first picture. :headbang: So your Ford racing catback will connect directly to our downpip.

Thanks,

JJ

LOVE the use of 45* angles vs the factory 90* angles - great upgrade...
Need a Catted version, so I may just modify these [then get them ceramic coated].

Sorry for the poor video quality, phone defaulted to the lowest setting.

We will put stock resonator back on for comparison. Look for that next week.

Does this overboost without a tune? I know on other platforms with turbos a free flowing exhaust will cause overboost and pop your engine.

Old beat up and thankfully running strong
So are there two options for mid pipes? The OP (to me) doesn't describe the pictures posted to well.
Is there a 2 1/4 and optional 3in mid pipe that connects to down pipe?

Thanks for the video.. That car is dying for a catback lol

Edit...So I guess this car has Ford racing axel back...

A mustang that sound like a droany civic lx with a fart can...sounds cheap.

However with your cat and resonator delete the car sounds excellent....
Matter of taste.

A fourbanger will never ever sound like a V8. Wait! If someone needs V8 sound so badly, he could record it and play it over the MySync USB port in. Cheaper than an exhaust upgrade! :D

Should sound like this ones. 30 year old cars. Some have a nice sound. :D

Nobody asked for a cylinder to sound like a V8...That would be dumb and impossible... But dont make an exhaust system that only adds raspiness to increase volume...

The Ford racing (borla) axle back might sound good by themselves...but in my opinion not with a cat and resonator delete... they might sound good if you put back the resonator...

A 4 cyclinder engine can sound good as a v6 or v8.

First, I will not remove my brand new factory exhaust, (I hope!) because I am not a race-guy. I will wait until I hear my own EcoBoost to hear by myself if it is that bad. But I am sure that it will sound OK for me.

I am from Germany and there you can't change anything what isn't approved from the Department of Transportation (TueV or ABE seal). So looking that some guys getting a brand new car and "cutting" (scary for a German guy like me! :D) out there exhaust system to replace it with one what has no "seal" doesn't sound right at all. :eyebulge:

So I am in for a tune but replacing a new part like the exhaust system, is a waste of resources. (money and metal) Ford should make it possible to get the car without exhaust. That would be OK for people they like to replace it right away. Spoiler delete is available - so why not exhaust delete? :threadjacked:
