Anyone else notice that if you lift up the wiper blades to dry off your GT350 or if you want to change your wiper blades it rubs up against the hood, taking the paint with it? Are the wipers free floating where you can move them so they don't rub against the hood? Anyone else having issue with this? Surprised I didn't see anything already in the forums about this.

It has been, design flaw, dealer says no fix. Some of us have had to get it painted. Supposedly owners manual says something about it.

My Xpel installer gave me a bunch of left-over scraps... some really large pieces, even... so I just cut a little sliver of it and added it to that part of the hood in the event that someone other than me (like my wife, maybe) tries to lift the wiper to clean the windshield without reading the section of the owner's manual that says to park the wipers up a little on the windshield before lifting them.

by supposedly, you mean that in fact it does?

CHANGING THE WIPER
BLADES
To service the windshield wipers, we
recommend the following for easier access
to the wiper blades.
1. Switch the ignition to accessory mode.
2. Switch the wipers on and switch the
ignition off when the wiper blades are
in the middle of the windshield.
3. Service the wiper blades. See the
Changing Wiper Blades section in the
Mustang Owner's Manual for more
information.
4. Switch the ignition to accessory mode
and switch the wipers off.
5. Switch the ignition off.

I don't know why people continue to reference it as a design flaw. Wipers flapping about above a certain speed likely had a large play in its recessed position.

I wish the guys at the dealership knew about this when they prepared my GT350 for pickup ... I bought a touch-up pen and corrected it.
Thanks Scoobs for those links too.

It was really annoying when I scratched the paint on my hood as well lifting the wipers the first time... I just applied touch up paint and moved on
