Hi all. I’m going to get the windows tinted on the new Bronco on Wednesday. Since I’ve lived in Illinois and California I’ve never got the windshield tinted. How many of you have it tinted and at what percent? I’ll decide on Wednesday if I’m gonna do it or not. I’ve also been told that I can get a ceramic tint that’s clear that will still block UV rays.

I have ceramic 70% on the front. It looks basically clear, but there is a big improvement on heat rejection.

Florida law says no tint on the windshield below the AS1 line. However, if it’s a 70-80% it’s doubtful anyone would notice. I have 50% on mine but I also have a medical exemption from FLDOT that allows it.

I did 50% on windshield and 5% on back and sides. Sort of wish I went 35% on the windshield.

You may want to check with FL laws because that 70% "tint" may be allowed. Hawaii has an annual state inspection and while they don't allow ANY tint below the AS1 mark, they DO allow the ceramic tint film that blocks 90% of UV as it doesn't feel like any heat at all compared to normal tint film. All other windows must not be darker than 35% in Hawaii; I imagine most red states on the mainland would be less restrictive than HI & CA.

I have checked those and the side windows are supposed to be 28% so 20% I think will be fine.

The backs can go darker but I like it to be uniform.

I have been driving the M1 with 20 percent and haven't been bothered.

Most people in FL seem to have 20 or darker. Hell, even the cops run 20 to 10% on their cruisers.

I live in IL and have my windshield tinted 50%. I don’t see how people go lower than that because during night driving the visibility sucks.
