Windshield repair advice

A rock hit my windshield and now I got an eye sore on it. Have any of you guys gotten your windshield replaced? Mine is a premium so it has sensors on the windshield. I heard its best to get Oem to keep all the sensors and stuff working. Might live with it for a while

The sensors should work even with a knockoff windshield (as long as the knockoff supports sensors) a lot of it is just in the install. In my humble opinion the bigger concern is the acoustic sound barrier. I've heard the Safelite knockoff windshield is actually pretty good. Either way prepare to spend some $$$ those sensor windshields are not cheap.

I had a windshield replaced on my 2022. Replaced by Caliber Glass and it was a Ford OEM windshield.

That looks pretty big. Even if you don't replace the windshield, you should repair the chip to keep it from spreading.

If it's in your line-of-sight you should probably replace the windshield. If it's off in a corner or otherwise out of the way, I would still get it repaired/filled. Safe-lite will come to you and pump in some epoxy (or something clear material) that should keep the spider web from getting bigger, and may also make the damage less visible. Replacement or repair should be covered under the comprehensive section of insurance and thus be little/no cost to you (and not a huge risk of raising your premiums).

I have three separate repairs to fairly small dings received over the years on the lower passenger side. They haven't gotten bigger and because they're not in my line of sight, I rarely notice them.

I thought there were guidelines for what size windscreen chip/crack can be repaired? Seems like it was drivers line-of-site and/or 3" long?
The OP's looks close to 3" but perhaps it's just the perspective.
My insurance will repair chips at no charge to me. A replacement is either $50 or $100 deductible, don't remember for sure.

Replaced our 2020 Eco Preium with ford OEM windscreen with Ford logo last year no problems with sensors. Just a thought if you replace with non Ford I'm not saying it won't work but if it doesn't what are your options then, glass company gonna make it right or is it up to you? When ours was replaced the installer needed to take the vehicle on the road as he said it had to be caliberated on the road he had equpment hooked up to vehicle, I live rural so no promblem with him hot rodding as I could see and hear him, only went a short distance until he coul make a u-turn and come back. No leaks, clean install, looks factory.

Make sure you check out finished job as I had a crew come to my house and when they were done I saw small chips in the paint where the ham fisted “installer” nicked it when removing the windshield.
The job was free as a result and the touch up by me was good.
