I'm looking for a new set of wheels and I have decided on a 19x10.5 or 19x10.75 wide wheel with a +35 offset.

According to the wheel offset calculator the 10.75 set will leave me with 12mm clearance to the suspension. I'm running factory PP struts and Sportlines.

My question is what is the factory clearance from the inside edge of the wheel and tire to the strut? Will I have enough room to clear with a 285/35 MP4S?

I've seen a few 10.5 +35 setups and they seem to work fine with about 5mm to spare. My calculations show I would need 3 of those millimeters for my setup. Does that sound right?

The specific wheel I'm looking at is 19x10.75 +35. If my maths are right I should have 2-3mm clearance. Does that sound right?
2-3mm clearance won't leave you any room for the tire to flex during driving, and you're going to end up with spacers or nice rub marks on the shocks. Learned this the hard way.

I don’t want spacers but I can live with rub marks on my struts. My tires should be slightly stretched on the 10.75 rim according to tire rack’s measurements (10” tread width) so I’m thinking flex won’t be an issue anyways.

There's just not much room to work with on these cars going towards the suspension in the front unlike the rear. I would seriously consider taking Paul's advice.

I went with 30et on a 10" and I'll also have a 285 tire. But, I wanted to ensure there would be no rubbing whatsoever. But, if you're not too worried about it...

I split the difference with a 6.5mm spacer, its small enough that you don't need new studs but just enough to not ruin the tires. Good luck.
