I am trying to figure out if I can pack a set of dedicated track wheels/tires plus a jack and a small box of tools with me all in inside the car. Thanks!

Iā€™d be careful laying them on the interior if you happen to be in the last run group of the day...hot hot hot

They will definitely fit. I've had 4 305's dozens of times in my S197. It really helps to remove the rear seats - only 2 bolts.

Barely. I could only fit 3 in the back with seats down and 1 in the passenger seat.

Thanks for this important clarification. So no way to do it without placing a wheel on the front seat? Not something I want to do.

Can I get a refresher. I have two track locations I'd like to go next year.
1) Road Atlanta 1h 15 mins @ 70 miles away
2) Roebling Road Raceway 4 hours @ 266 miles away <- i plan to most likely spend the night

Why would I not drive with my car already prepped for either events?

I cringe thinking about what would happen if you guys got in a wreck with all that mass flying around inside your car.
I witnessed the aftermath of something similar about 20 years ago...was not pretty.

That's another huge reason. There isn't a return from a flying weapon.

So is it a sane for me to think that having a prepped vehicle one that passes a safety inspection should be able to start the hpde from start to finish and have the ability to come back home safely? I'd feel comfortable with my track wheels and Non-r Cup 2 tires with fresh to mild tread use to be able to return from a 300 mile trip.

All of my track days so far have been at Summit Point which is about 90 km away. I have just driven my track prepped car there. I was planning on making a trip to VIR which is why I was asking about packing the wheels for that trip.

I put 3 in the back seat and the 4th in the trunk. But I too don't see the point of not driving to the event with Cup2s already on the car.

How the heck did you fit three wheels with tires in the back seat?

I regret that I didnā€™t take a photo so I could pass it on from the last time I moved 4 tires.

In the back seat behind the driver, place one tire side to side or at a 45 degree angle standing up. Move the passenger seat forward about 1/2-3/4 of the way up, and the remaining two tires will fit standing up front to back (same orientation as when theyā€™re on the car.)

There will be a ton of room in the trunk for all your other track gear. I suggest plastic tire bags to keep the seats from getting dirty (or just remove the rear seats prior to track day and put a towel down.)
