Will carmax offer less with each subsequent quote you get?

Looking to sell my s197 as i got my s550 coming soon. I got a quote from carmax with my vin for 8k, but tbh i just went there to check out of curiousity, i realistically can't sell it until a few months. But seeing as I got this 8k$ quote, the next time I try to get a quote, will they see this previous quote and offer me even less?

Are you a betting man? There is no one on here that can tell you what your offer will be three months from now. Carmax could offer you more or less, it depends on the market. It's a crapshoot and you take your chances. BTW have you tried Caravan or Vroom?

Until new supply eases I doubt the used market gets much better. If anything I think itll get worse. People who have been holding out because the market sucks so much are going to be forced to act eventually. There is just a ton of pent up demand that will take a long time to unwind.

new cars at at Invoice around here (quite a lot to choose from) and if you stand firm should be able to get a little bit more. If there was pent up demand, used cars wouldn't be more expensive than new. The worm has turned around here. Not all dealers have faced reality yet but it won't be long now.
