Imy currently running 315x35x20 nitto invos, and have been out to the track once with this car and had a hell of a time getting traction.

I'm trying to find some cheap rims to mount some drag radials on like 2x a year to go to track make some runs, go home put my street tires back on.

Everyone keeps saying buy welds or race stars but those are 250 to 350 per rim.

Will I be ok with any rim? Americanmuscle has 18x10 gt500 rims on clearance for 89.00. Well those with some mickey Thompson drag radials that fit help me with traction or what size rim should I get?

Thank you

Hey guys, I want to pull the plug on rims today; You think 17x9.5 or 17x10 is the best rear tire size for the track only?

Also I'm thinking of going with the Race Star rims, but I could save a couple hundred bucks just getting a factory style 17x10 rim.

What are your thoughts? I like the 17x10 rim because the mickey thompsons that fit it seem to be cheapest for that size rim vs the 18's and up.

There probably only a few pounds lighter if that? But honestly I'd go 275-285 on those wheels.

Id do 17x10 so you'll be able to use the biggest tire possible. There is really nothing wrong with saving a few bucks with the rear tires. I use a used set of GT500 wheels off of Craig's list and they work fine.
