Why doesn't the S550 come with Hoodstruts!?!?

So there must be a a reason behind it l.. why not?

Does installing aftermarket hood struts affect the car in anyways? I've heard it would affect the hood bending in the case of an accident

Uh, because it doesn't come with them? My 2004 has a prop rod also. So did my 1997 and 1983.

It was said that it was a last minute drop from the cars. Friends of mine asked engineers at the last Woodward dream cruise and they said they couldn't afford to put them in, but they were planned for the car.

I love my prop rod. It will never slam the hood on you or tools under hood if the wind blows. It's simple, light, always works, doesn't leak or fail. I wouldn't trade my prop rod for anything.
